Is it a bug? Is it a Glitch?

After playing through most of the other characters I am now up to level 30 with Gaige and noticed a few possible glitches. The early part of level 30 I was in the Rustyards and then collected the side mission Hyperion Contract #873. Then the problems started. The bandit difficulty went almost to UVHM level. Previous headshots with a sniper would kill them but now around 15 headshots only made a minor impact on the bandits life. My level 29 and 30 Maliwan corrode and shock sniper rifles behaved like bad Hyperion snipers. The sight was wandering around all over the place. If I managed to get the sight stable the shot went off on a tangent. Very frustrating. This only seemed to happen with sniper rifles. Then when the mission was ready to Turn In I went to clear out some of the areas to find DeathTrap would not attack anybody. I was being over whelmed by bandits and DeathTrap just hovered beside me like a little puppy.

Has any one else had similar problems?

This is just derptrap doing what he does, sadly.

Are you using anarchy? If so your accuracy gets worse for every stack you have, and as such using sniper rifles isn’t necessarily advisable.

As @Kuolemanlaakso pointed out, if you have high Anarchy stacks - and especially if you didn’t spec into Close Enough (left hand skill tree) you’ll have problems landing shots. Your stack count should appear in one of the grey/silver icons above your level/progress bar on the HUD. If you want to continue using high Anarchy stacks for the punch but still be able to use snipers when needed, check out the Discord mechanic (1-point skill in the right hand tree), which restores accuracy and also gives you some health regen at the expense of some of your stacks.

I’m going to assume your game isn’t updated and you accidentally activated the 4 player difficultly glitch by walking near Hyperius’ or Master Gee’s arena? Causing most enemies to have 4x health and increased damage.

That’s from the reduced accuracy that stacks of Anarchy grant you for their massive gun damage increase.

You’d have to be a little more specific about this one.

This is unheard of, as far as I can tell! Did you try a save & quit? Shirt happens, you know, and sometimes the system just goes haywire.

One can only speculate whether they added all the bugs and glitches on purpose. They must have set some sort of world record when you add up all the problems with him.
