Best all-round weapon: 1-shot Hyperion shotguns

Single barrel non red text shotguns aren’t very good at lvl 72-op8. I’m not even sure if there good in uvhm at all

Hyperion shotguns with a Hyperion barrel? I might go with a Tediore shotgun with a Hyperion barrel. You lose the inverse recoil (and maybe some damage per shot), but gain an “oh crap” grenade you can always throw.

…for certain values of “good” and “UVHM”, sure. “One-hit kill at OP8”? Probably not. “Good mob control up to maybe OP4”? Probably so.

I haven’t used a Thinking in a long time. The closest I’ve been recently was using the 1340 Shotgun (yes red text, but the only difference here is the double Tediore barrel (for better or worse) and the voice), and it’s capable of killing things at OP3 anyway.

Hyperion shotguns. They usually have 8 rounds, and you fire them from the hip and they become more accurate as you shoot

if you find a fire one (e.g. similar to Moxxi shotgun), it’s fist-pump time

On Gunzerker only, because the interfacer gets the lady fists crit bonuses? Or on other vault hunters as well?

I agree with your disagreement. Another fan of Thinkings and Longriders here. Granted I tend to use Thinkings more in TPS (Athena!) but that’s mostly RNG, haven’t actually seen very many drop in BL2.

Thinking shotguns can still be used at op8 for accurate fire, specially against stuff like Buzzards but I don’t believe they’re remotely close to being best all-around, not even in the same galaxy… Overall, I prefer Jakobs Barreled shotguns, mainly Jakobs and Torgue brands.

Going to go against the grain here and agree with the OP- Thinking shotguns are generally the best mobbing (non-unique) shotguns due to good fire rate/mag size and accuracy lending them ease of use and flexibility…provided you can element match with them, otherwise Jakobs and Torgue are better.

Bit late to the party but hey! Hyperion’s single barrel shotguns are among my favorites non red text guns. Especially with the Tediore barrel. I almost always carry a shock one in my backpack. Works marvels against surveyors and rakks.
Because you know what everybody says: Shields don’t matter, they’re weak … bla bla bla Florentine suck blablabla… Well. As for everything. It depends.
Surveyor’s shields (execpt super badass and the like) are stronger than their body. imo
