Updated/filled treasure maps

Subject: Updated/filled treasure maps

Greetings!

I’m replaying the first game now and, seeing the lack of complete treasure maps (save for main game map), have taken upon myself a task of making them, based on partially filled collective maps made by Mystic100 (kudos to him/her). I’ve added all crates found on wiki, forums, and by myself (after all these years, some are still not mentioned), as well as missing shops and some local objectives – it was a necessity, given the game’s atrocious handling of multiple objective markers.

Main game

  • added missing shops;
  • added markings for multiple objectives that are given in weird order;
  • added “below/above” markings to some crates;
  • added “random” markings to some crates (Treacher’s Landing / Trash Coast / Crimson Fastness);
  • Trash Coast: 2 more random red crates (next to King Aracobb);
  • Rust Commons East: one more white crate in Jaynistown + marked all 3 white crates as random;
  • The Descent: changed the last white crate to red crate.

DLC 1 – Ned

  • added missing shops;
  • added markings for red and white weapon crates;
  • added markings for red crates carried by Loot Goons (in brackets) that appear in any of the marked spots on each map; some Loot Goons are not mentioned on wiki.

DLC 3 – Knoxx

  • added missing shops;
  • added markings for multiple objectives that are given in weird order;
  • altered some height markings: lines both below and above mean that a crate is located somewhere between bridge level and ground level;
  • added missing markings for white, red and Lance weapon crates throughout the desert (the latter kind are marked with blue stars, as per Mystic100’s example);
  • added markings for a number of crates missing on wiki:
    Sunken Sea: 2 more random crates in small camp N of center (4 red crates in total)
    Deep Fathoms: one more random red crate in N bandit camp;
    Lockdown Palace: verified all red crates, including random ones and those that only appear after MQ mission (and stay forever);
  • Road’s End: added markings for “Lost Lewts” Lance crates;
  • Crimson Armory: filled crate layout for 1F, 2F/3F and wall safes.

DLC 4 – Claptrap

  • added missing shops;
  • added markings for multiple objectives that are given in weird order;
  • added markings for red and white weapon crates;
  • Tartarus Station: added Hyperion gift shop layout;
  • Sanders Gorge: altered the map to make pathways clear;
  • added markings for a number of crates missing on wiki:
    Tartarus Station: center, rooftop above “metro” area – white crate;
    Sanders Gorge:
    – E, above the path leading to the gate – red crate;
    – gate, 1st guard tower on the left, top – red crate;
    Scorched Snake Canyon: side tower dividing the E quarry – red crate (drawing distance hides it);
    Wayward Pass:
    – jutting rock dead E of start – white crate;
    – N, long side path before Ned’s arena – white crate.

Ah these are great! Super job on these, very kind of you to put these together for us and the internet.

Have you considered marking down higher-quality trash piles, or is that where you draw the line?

This honestly could be pin-worthy.

Please explain what piles you are referring to.

So each loot source has an Awesome Level(AL) assigned to it; be it enemy, chest, or boss. The higher the AL, the overall higher quality of gear that will spawn from it. Not all white chests are equal to each other, nor are all red chests equal in the loot god’s eye.

The same holds true for trash bins, skag piles, lockers, things of that nature. Some of these lesser loot sources have notably high ALs.

For example, in Arid Hills above the two vendors there are two skag piles that very often spawn a grenade mod or similar item.

@Stouty22, do you remember anything about a trashpickers/dumpsterdivers loot guide from the old forums?

Ah, that… I did notice that some crates mostly yield whites and some piles provide blue mods more often than not (all piles in Wayward Pass are like that), but that kind of research will take too much time, and I have other projects at the moment.

Fair enough, thanks for all what you did besides!

These are awesome; thanks for sharing! Just a quick glance at the DLC maps makes me sad how many chests I’ve been missing all these years…

I helped a little to compile the Scag pile guide on the old forums.
I tried to find a link but was unable to.

Would it be possible for the op to include screenshots of the chest location.
