The UCP skill changes thread

So… hi there, since there is no real info on actual skill changes in the UCP so i have taken it upon myself to provide them in a nice and cozy place like this also my main objective is to get thoughs of more expierienced Zer0s out there on said skill changes.

Now with the usless intro behind let’s go over them:

SNIPING:

  • Optics
increased the aim steadiness from (from 60% at 5/5 to 70%)
added a new stat (70% aim speed at 5/5)
  • Kill C0nfirmed
removed the stacking mechanic and now gives the full bonus from the beginning
  • Critical Ascension
stacks decay at a lower rate (was every second) (is every 3 seconds)

CUNNING:

  • C0unter Strike
the chance of it triggering is higher
  • Grim
repleced Fearless as a tier 2 skill in the Cunning tree
buffed the cooldown rate (from 7.5% at 5/5 to 10%)
  • Innervate
gun damage replaced by reducing the status effect duration while decepti0n is active
increased the health regen (was 4% at 5/5 is 5%)

BLOODSHED:

  • Ir0n Hand
replaced health with damage reduction (15% at 5/5)
  • Fearless
replaced Grim as a tier 2 skill in the bloodshed tree
replaced gun damage for health regen when shields are depleted (1.5% at 5/5)
  • Resurgence
buffed the health restored on melee kill (was up to 20% at 5/5 is up to 30%)
  • Like The Wind
added new stats (25% chance to dodge bullets and status effects when moving)
    removed gun and melee damage

Whew thats it for now (at least i think it is) I will of course add any possible changes if they come so it will not be outdated. All in all i want your opinions on these sexy skills.

OP. As. Hell.

Never been a big fan of the Fearless, Kill C0nfirmed, or Innervate changes, but the good thing about the patch is that the filter tool lets you disable individual parts of it.

I like this ( even though I’ve never used it… )

I like this too, but the damage should be nerfed to counteract it. Otherwise OP. As. Hell

Interesting idea - in a good way.

I’m surprised Be Like Water didn’t get any attention. It could have been made to be multiplicative ( but with a lower percentage to not be OP. As.Hell ).

I’m not a UCP user, so…grain of salt.

I don’t see how any of this is OP. It’s all sensible changes to make the skills more useable at max level. CA stacks decayed too quickly on many weapons and none of this changes CA stacking and its overall effects… Swapping Fearless and Grim is the kind of change GBX should have made, given that all of Zero’s melee skills depend on keeping his shield down…The buffs to Kill Confirmed might actually cause you to use it, same with Like the Wind (although you’d still probably pass on it). Resurgence is not significant except for the very best melee Zero’s at OP8, so a buff there made sense. Other buffs removed minor gun damage boosts in favour of more passive survivability during Deception, which again makes sense.

If I was a user of 0ptics, I’d take this. I, personally, would either want more out of the skill to consider points in it (or if Headsh0t wasn’t already so utilitarian).

Pass - I removed this and left the stacking mechanism in place. I like juggling the timing of waiting for this to stack while other buffs are running out of time when stacking game mechanics for a shot.

Yeah, I made it even more. I don’t stack artificially, and if I’m doing really well, I’ll get a stack to maybe 10, and for a capstone skill with this requirement, I like it to hit harder. As I think about it, I would consider going back to a one- to three-second delay, but up the damage.

Heck yes - it still doesn’t fire too often, but often enough that I’m way more comfortable maxing it out.

I left the skills where they were originally, but left the cooldown buff… it always seemed low to me.

I removed the DoT reduction and left in the gun damage, but kept the health regen… as Zer0’s main health regeneration, I like the little buff. As I think about it, I may remove the gun damage as a balance for the enhanced health regen.

This makes Ir0n Hand a useful skill for me… I didn’t remove the modification, but I still don’t put points into it (so many other skills I’d rather hit).

I skipped this modification entirely (I don’t really use Fearless either, and I was too lazy to separate the buffs from the text). :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes please - I always thought this was a little low. I mean, it shouldn’t refill your health on a kill, but still.

I haven’t gotten around to backing out the bullet dodge chance. I don’t mind it, but I’m not a fan of that particular game mechanic though (no fault of the designer or the modder: just not my cup of tea).

On console, so I can’t take advantage of the changes but if I did, it would definitely change my builds and it would be interesting to experiment

Melee Zero
Iron hand: if this doesn’t screw up shield stripping, it’d become a must take for me to get down to the third tier, skipping be like water. This, plus the like the wind change would be huge for using the love thumper

Like the wind/Resurgence/counter strike: I’d probably “over-spend” in the bloodshed with these changes. Grab bore, kunai then go maybe 4-4 in like the wind and resurgence. Or drop a point from one of those to max counter strike.

These wouldn’t be enough to run the hunter com over the Ninja, but could be nice for leveling melee with the hunter com

Sniper zero:
I use some pts in kill confirmed so I’d like the change in that- might max it. Would probably take iron hand and kb to get to followthrough now that you could grab grim in the cunning tree. The grim cooldown adjustment may also make it easier to use a stockpile relic vs a bone which would be nice for CA. Although a bone+L Hunter+grim might be a little too powerful for cooldown, but would be awesome for general gun/shotgun builds if you can be taking a shot out of deception on almost literally every enemy

I like the CA adjustment. Outside of prestacking, i doubt most people can get enough use out of it in general mobbing, especially with it being a capstone. Especially the peak or other places where there’s a bit of time moving between rooms, the slower decay would help a lot. Obviously there are some people who can “abuse” it as-is, but I think us mortals like the change
