Swordsplosion plus Chain Reaction?

Wasn’t sure about whether it is okay to reply to two year old threads so I thought a new topic would be best.

I was just reading derch’s chain reaction guide and was curious about something. In it he lists a number of weapons with special after-impact effects. Things like the pimpernel and swordsplosion. What I’m confused about is this. Do all these weapons work with chain reaction? Specifically the swordsplosion?

There didn’t seem to be any kind of confirmation that they all did. It kind of seemed like he was simply listing weapons with special effects on impact. But it is in a chain reaction guide so maybe they all do work with CE.

Anyways, swordsplosion is a weird one because while it is a shotgun that has extra pellets (casual does anyways), it also counts toward grenade kills and on top of that it has splash damage. So.

Does swordsplosion work with chain reaction? It really doesn’t seem like it would, or should for that matter.

Anything that can score a critical hit on a normal enemy, can proc Chain Reaction. So the SWORDSPLOSION can proc CR, just not its child grenades.

Thanks guys. Very helpful replies. Glad to see such useful activity on a board for a years old game. Very nice for those of us, like myself, who only just recently got into borderlands.

Swordsplosion is a strange weapon. Lol. Strange but absolutely amazing. Not a huge fan of Mister Tongue but this weapon alone makes m glad he’s around. I did think it unlikely the child grenades could proc CE but really wasn’t sure at all about the initial hit. Seems unusual that it would proc it but I am very glad it does. Lol. That bit about anything that can crit is capable of proccing chain reaction is very useful also as I had no idea about that. Thanks, i’ll definitely keep that in mind from now on. My casual swordsplosion is only op3 while I’m now at op5 but it is still my go to havoc-wreaking weapon of choice and still my favorite for getting second winds. As long as my aim is on point. Lol.

I’m rambling though.
