I mean I’ve been farming since last night. Probably around 100 times using the Dexiduous eridium furnace method. He spawned once after i saved and quit then restarted today. (i think the 3rd time after) but man I understand Vermiverous being hard to spawn cause of the Norfleet but is the twister really that OP to justify this pain?

I was incredibly lucky on my first attempt. I got OOO to spawn after a few fan boat rounds and got a Twister drop with fairly good parts.
Is it a game changer? Eh…no. But it is still an incredibly good gun. It kind of depends on character a bit ( Maya, Zer0 and Gaige have all been sharing it and all three can make it do crazy things ). Less so with the other three I think.
For me it was 100% worth the time I put in but I’m not sure I’d have the stamina to do extended farming.

that’s the method I’m using currently yeah. But definitely over 100 boat rounds so far and 1 spawn. I’m kinda at the point in thinking there has to be something wrong with my game or I’m in one of those phases of the game where you wont get anything rare so you should restart and wait a couple hours then come back. I want to earn it legit but it really feels like he’s not going to spawn again, like ever, until i actually restart or something

Stay with it though- I’ve only ever gotten 1 Twister (and that was using this method). Took a couple of hours but it was worth it just to cross it off my personal bucket list…

I appreciate support, it’s needed. I started last night. been at it since 9am today (it’s almost 8pm here now) and haven’t had any luck even spawning him. I really want to get it just to finally get something really really rare. Most legendaries and stuff I get from Loot midgets and stuff rather than bosses so it would be nice to see it actually drop for me and know I earned it without any kind of work around.

man you and Jeje are good luck. Literally the next boat run after replying to you he spawns lol. I’m 0/2 for the Twister but at least I know he still spawns. It’s probably going to be hours before he spawns again so gotta keep at it lol

There’s not really a solid correlation between how awesome a gun is and its rarity… that’s a quick ticket to disappointment when expectations about the damage output when you finally get a rare gun don’t pan out.
That said, the Twister is a seriously good shotgun… I’d go so far as to say it’s one of the best in the entire game. Within the top five at least?

It’s best remembered during its Loot Hunt days when it boasted 100% splash in addition to its already impressive base damage. It had by a decent margin the highest oneshot power of any shotgun in the game. The October 29 Patch reduced its power substantially as it now only has 40% splash (meaning it was formerly 50% stronger). It’s still really good, but the difference is definitely noticeable.
It was definitely worth the grind in the past, now a number of other shotguns have similar oneshot potential and better overall DPS, and are alot easier to acquire. It’s also alot less valuable on a gunpowder Axton or BB Krieg build with the reduced splash (only gets small bonus from grenade dmg bonuses and isn’t great at proccing BB).

Oh yeah, easily one of the best guns in the entire game. I’d put it firmly in my top 10.
Don’t get me wrong, his spawn rate is atrocious, but the weapon is definitely worth it.

Hey griptail. First entry, I don’t think its OP at all, if anything it’s just ok. It uses huge amounts of ammo and has slow moving projectiles. Sure you can speed them up with Maya and Zero, but close range is by far it’s best use.
Secondly, 0/2 drops…hmmm. I argued the fact it should be 100% drop, because of the lengths you have to go through just to even get OOO to spawn. And then take into consideration you may get a bad ‘parts’ drop.
My personal view on the Twister is more of a trophy hunt. If you get a good drop, it’s usable. Farming it is for the rather dedicated. I had a good drop, but i don’t really use it much, i prefer Fire based weapons with Maya.

I finally managed to snag one. Woooo feel good.
Can anyone who knows about shotgun parts tell me on a scale of 1 to 10 how good the parts are on this one? I wish it had a foregrip accessory for extra pellets but other than that how good or bad is this one?

The bad news is it likely has no accessory.
The good news is it doesn’t matter.
The good news is that Tediore stock reduces recoil ( also reduces accuracy but that’s kind of irrelevant here ).
The best news is you have a Jakobs grip.

Ah that’s good to know. I knew it wasn’t a perfect one but I’m glad it’s decent. I’ll probably try again at another time to get a better one but for now I’m content with this one and cant wait to use it with either Gaige or Zer0. Probably Gaige

You have so many strong weapons in the game you don’t “need” the Twister…but…it’s frickin awesome!
If you get an enemy caught in the projectile cone, it just shreds them. I’m not sure if the splash is grenade splash or weapon splash (boosted by Reaper) but it works really well with Maya. It also moves through an enemy so you can crush several grouped up together and I think it is effected by Chain Reaction. Derch has gameplay footage of this with his “Twisted Pimp” builds, where he relies primarily on the Twister for his heavy damage on big enemies.
I imagine that Gaige with her shock buffs and Zero with his one shot potential out of deception and Bore, can get a lot out of the Twister as well. I like it with Krieg too, as he’s often right in the face of enemies, which is what the Twister’s range is.

thats my excitement. The twister is perfect for Gaige’s anarchy skill and the accuracy depletion as well as the electric boosts. So it’s almost designed for her i feel. 1 shot 1 kill for Zero also seems legit. I’ll have to test out bore on it
