I just got my first Quasar and I'm happy

I just got a level 42 Quasar from a loot midget. I was so happy. I just recently found out about the grenade through youtube videos. it’s funny I have never once had it drop, yet I watch videos about it and then BAM a week or so later I get a quasar. I’m really happy about that. The only issue is it’s a homing instead of standard lob but overall I’m super pumped about it

Update: I farmed the loot midgets in Wildlife preserve room and now also have a rubberized and longbow quasar too! The rubberized one was in the chest in that room. The longbow was from a loot midget. I still want to farm Ultimate Varkids just for the kicks

Good find! I actually prefer homing or longbow versus standard delivery. If you’re having issues getting it to land where you want, one tip is to quickly aim down sights to get your cross-hairs centred on target, then fire off the grenade. A homing can still wander off and hit another target, but it gives you a better chance; for longbow, this is a great way to get precise placement even at range.

I love homing grenades.

I have yet to see this grenade and have been hunting it forever! It would take my krieg all the way through the op levels and would be so helpful right now. :frowning:

Wait’ll you get your hands on a longbow version with a low, or even better, zero fuse time. I only have a couple longbow zero-fuse-time Quasars amongst all my characters and those things are gold. Even when they’re severely underleveled they’re still awesome for the instant crowd control and stun.

I take it you know that their assigned drop is from ultimate badass varkids, which means that it comes from something that’s one step removed from spawning into the hardest to spawn raid bosses in the game. You actually might have a better shot to get it as a world drop than from their assigned source, which is why I’d suggest farming the LLM in WEP, Thousand Cuts or Sawtooth Cauldron…

Hitting the mercernary chest today for hope of a quesar! I barely try to spawn ultimate badasses way too hard.

My OP8 character still has his lobbed level 20 Quasar and uses it fairly often.

I wish there was a rubberized Fastball, that would keep my Tediore Axton on his toes…

A Rubberized Capt. Blade’s Midnight Star?

If there was some sort of tradeoff for that fuse type, like more damage or DoT chance, I’d consider it.

Off topic… I miss rain grenades from BL1. I recently loaded it on my weaker, portable computer so I can tool around when I’m away from home. Looking forward to that.

thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely use it.

I discovered that between my most recent crop of TVHM characters, I had two level 48 rubberized quasars. They are very effective, but you have to be REALLY careful where you throw them. Both 0.0s fuse; one has higher base damage but the other has better DoT.

apparantely they drop from Ultimate Badass Varkids. So if you ever go hunting for Vermivorous you could also be looking to get one from Ultimates. It would be a good consolation prize. I like to go to Caustic caverns, run over to the shed, kill one varkid to get a crystalik to spawn and let them fight it out while i wait a safe distance away.

Fastball is great but i love the singularity part of the grande combined with the tesla effect since my other favorite grenade is storm front lol
