Hey guys I’m new on the forums been playing borderlands 2 since it came but recently switched over to pc. My steam account is vscatassa if any of y’all wanna play. Anyway back on topic here I was wondering how hard it is to get second tier pearls? I’ve been grinding tubbies (currently on op 2) and not a single pearl drop. I’m looking for a casual carnage for my explosive Krieg build and I feel as tho it will never come :/.Does anyone have a preferred method to spawning tubies beside creature slaughter dome? I’m currently using the dust run because I accidentally finished the slaughter dome. Also I’m really comfortable at op 2 so don’t plan on moving up but are chances really that much higher for tubbie spawns if I go up in op levels? Thanks a lot any help is appreciated.
This might need to be moved to loot and weapons if mod wants to help me out 
The pearl drop percentages from tubbies is on a scale of 1% possibility at OP0 to 20% at OP8. I need to find the post with the actual scale but your chances at OP2 are likely around 5%.
Unfortunately it seems there are favoured pearls : Unforgiven, Storm, Stalker. Those are the ones I get most often. I would recommend saving yourself a lot of grief farming a Carnage, much less a Casual one, much less one on-level and I’ve never had a Carnage drop…ever. Go get a SWORDSPLOSION!! instead - it’s amazing with Krieg…and everyone else.
That’s good to know man thanks for the help. I just picked up my swordsplosion the other day casual prefix so it will have to do. Hope fully the carnage will pop up one day!
I feel your pain. I’ve still yet to see a 2nd-tier pearl drop, even farming with my OP8 Sal. Like Jefe said there’s a better chance for tubby pearl drops as you go up the OP levels, but the 1st-tier ones are still gonna be included in their loot pool. (Sure enough, a few Dust runs with my OP8 Sal resulted in a Stalker and an Avenger. Sigh. )
Yea it’s really upsetting honestly I have only gotten the first set including a sawbar, avenger, storm, and a unforgiven. Wish the second set would drop from something other than tubbies spawning them alone is just awful. Dust has been tough lately tubby maybe every three runs if I’m lucky.
2nd gen pearls are rare, but upside is that they don’t have that much parts variance. -Only Wanderlust spawn with different elements and is trash anyway.
Carnage is the only pearl I’ve yet to find. 34 pearls farmed with OP8 character so far, 8 of them 2nd gen. No perfect finds yet. Farming mostly in Frostburn Canyon. Single run takes ~3 mins, average 1 tubby per ~5 runs.
So op 8 seems like it’s gonna be the move for my Krieg… hope I won’t have too much trouble getting there! Let me ask did you get a carnage with a causal prefix ?

Yes, rare it is. But I’m wondering if it doesn’t serve as good incentive to get to OP8. If not for challenge then to increase the miniscule chance of getting 2nd gen pearls.
That’s why I’m moving my Krieg to op 8 even though I kind of hate op levels. That carnage and maybe a bekah are my only motivation.
