Hunter or Siren, I'm wanting to reach higher difficulties

I’m planning on reaching the max difficulty in this game. That’s a lot of playthroughs and many hours… but I’m very set to do this. I’ve only did Normal in this game. First playthrough and that’s it. It wasn’t until BL2 where I actually started doing TVHM/UVHM/OP.

And boy those difficulties made the game so much fun, but as I said I never did it for Borderlands until now.

So, I’m going into this with a very prepared mind. I know, I know… any class can reach those levels. Some however, do it better than the rest. I’ve marked it down to both of these classes.

Hunter and Siren.

Hunter can do beastly damage with his pistol. Once you get that first kill, bodies will be hitting the floor lol. In terms of health healing… Bloodwing is all he got. (Eh Riotous Remedy is another choice, but I never had good situations with it.)

Siren is the other choice. She can be beastly with a SMG and after the first kill she can just spray it and not waste any ammo. Her action skill will probably be mainly used for getting out of bad situations + healing. Of course it can be used to get a better flank on your enemies.

So, I guess it’s… Damage or Utility.

Lilly if you want everything to be pretty much easy mode, or Mordy if you want a bit of a challenge.

Uh, BL1 doesn’t have an equivalent of UVHM. There’s Playthrough 1, and then Playthrough 2. And near the end of the story in Playthrough 2, that playthrough morphs into 2.5, which simply scales everything to your level. And OP levels are only in BL2.

Just a heads up, if you didn’t know.

Anyway, I’d pick Lilith as she’s an immortal junkie of a demigod. It’s lore. It’s mechanics. It’s Lillith.

Sigh…

I know it’s not called UVHM, but it’s pretty much UVHM just with a different name and I know OP levels aren’t in this game. It’s just easier “for me” by calling them UVHM, because it’s pretty much UVHM.

There are significant differences between BL2 UVHM and BL1 Pt.2.5, though, as you either know or are about to discover. For someone coming to BL1 for the first time from BL2, calling Pt.2.5 “UVHM” could create some pretty misleading expectations.

Anyway, back on topic: the main thing is that entering the vault of the destroyer in Pt.2 triggers end-game mode. If you want ultimate difficulty, race through Pt.2 with any character, then FT out of the final vault after the cut-scene. You will now have the experience of being vastly under-levelled, and having to peck away bit by bit at the skags and bandits outside Firestone until you have recovered enough ground to be able to survive and move beyond Firestone.

This is what happened to me with my Mordecai. A saving grace was that I’d done quite a number of side missions in Pt.2, as well as some of the DLC, so I wasn’t too far down. Getting a Bruiser at the Firestone gate was, however… bruising.

I managed things a bit better with Lillith - basically, went through Pt.2 mostly under-levelled, and picked up side quests whenever I felt I was getting too over-whelmed. (Essentially, I followed the pinned “ideal play-through” instructions.) Lillith is easier to play under-levelled than Mordecai in my experience. I still have Roland in Pt.2, and Brick stuck in Pt.1. Definite personal preference for Hunter and Siren.

I don’t care, it’s still UVHM to me. Ok, ending it now. Thanks for the tip.

Have fun! Did you decide between characters?
