Vladof Anarchist Prop Build

Vladof Anarchist. Best pistol in game. Vladof. Vladof! VLAADOF!

anyways srsly now

Very early on in my first playthrough (with Zer0) I was lucky enough to get a pure Vladof Anarchist… er, from a rakk :stuck_out_tongue:. The anarchist is possibly my favorite gun in the game and I have used the very same gun on almost every character .

So, I decided to make it reality.

First step: Pictures!

What surprised me was that you cannot find a single screenshot of a basic, pure anarchist?!
Well there they are.

From these pictures, I needed to draw up some technical drawings:

So that’s them!
Now it’s on to the making

Got a lot of college work at the moment so will update when I can!

To make the body parts, I made an exact papercraft version of the pieces, and am filling them with Apoxie to strengthen them. The paper will later be painted with resin to solidify it before finishing and casting.

The barrel section will be cast twice for bottom and top. It looks a bit uneaven at the moment, but I will straghten it up when it gets lined.

Apoxie Filling ^

Ok quick update (sorry no photos atm) - both barrel cover and main body are now filled with Apoxie and I have started finishing them.
The paper will be coated with resin to harden it and make it sandable, and the inner bits will be cleaned up.
I have made a smooth section in the main body for the breach system to run along - just need to get the lathe up and running for that!

that’s it for the moment - more pics soon!

Looking forward to this, also screw college :stuck_out_tongue:

Think you could make an melee attachment version (or just an attachment to the “gun” itself)? I always loved the Patriot’s version best

Ye who needs college - totally not important for my later life XD

Yes - was thinking about that - I might do one with some kind of magnet system? not sure yet.

I may do some kind of scope/sight as well

A few pictures for you all.

The body casing

breach parts placed in the body (these will hopefully move when the arming lever is pulled)

the barrel casing (cast twice for each gun)

parts against mockup

So now the parts will be sprayed with varnish to solidify the paper, then sanded and finished.
Then the molds will be made and I can start work on the rest of the gun

You should start a business selling prop guns, these look really awesome! Oh and IMO the paper doesn’t really distract at all but enhances it cause it does look suspiciously similar to the style of BL guns

Thanks!
I need to harden and sand the paper mainly because it’s not that neat at the moment, which you can’t really see in the pics. Also the mold could suffer if the silicone soaks in.

I will definitely paint it up and put shading lines on the final ones to fit the art style!

Alright, sorry for no updates for a while - been rather busy.
However; I finish my college course on june 1st, so after that it will be full steam ahead!

No problem, real life does on occasion dictate how much free time you have.

Great work! I am a huge fan of Apoxie Sculpt as well.

Keep kicking ass!

So I finished college yesterday, and, as promised, I’ve returned to the pistol!

I’m working on the lower body and grip currently, here are the paper templates:

Templates for the grip (the cross shaped one) and the lower body (the other one)

Completed lower body and grip 3D templates in place

So now I’ve designed the trigger housing, which was complex, but i’m wondering how on earth I’m going to do the mag holder!

I’ll be spending a lot of time on the gun for a few days, so I’ll probably be updating more than once a day :open_mouth:

Check out my Zer0 costume build

UPDATE!!!

wow its been a while but ive made a lot of progress

machining the top slide mechanism out of an old bit of copper pipe filed with apoxie

cutting the piece (it wont do anything like slide back, it just looks cool if its machined)

sanding the lower body/trigger housing

all pieces placed together (some unfinished)

I need to clean it up an take a few more pics, like detailed ones of the clip but it’s starting to look a bit more like a gun now!

It’s kinda like a medieval stone gun in this form. I can’t wait to see it cleaned up even more!

RIGHT!
update!
I’ve not posted anything in AGES due to college stuff/starting uni/being on holiday/being overly lazy/running out of resin

However, I have still been making progress (slowly)

lots of pictures:

Close up of clip detail (its a real bullet shell so its extra cool)

all the main pieces cleaned up and sprayed black, well, covered in dust cuz i’ve just been sanding
Also note the appearance of the grip! (say hi grip) the detail on the grip is a piece of cut Worbla, which is mainly used in costume making, but it has a textured surface so is perfect for this job a̶c̶t̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶i̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶h̶a̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶l̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶i̶d̶e̶a̶

trigger in place. The whole trigger section of the gun is not so easy to replicate irl, as the finger guard comes far too close to the grip beaning that the gun would be very uncomfortable to hold, and the trigger itself had to be made thicker, as the one in game is very thin and would break off easily.

Barrel No.1

barrel 1 + cast. I was using algenate (the stuff people use to cast hands and other body parts ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) for the mold as its very cheap. It’s not great. The mold is very delicate and soft, so the first attempt failed. The second try was a lot better and, although not perfect, could be tidied up afterwards. Believe it or not, they are both the same length, the photo turned out like an optical illusion

The two barrels stuck together.

Main body parts all assembled, ready for the barrel

Once the barrels are dry, its a case of sticking them onto the body - which is basically the end!
What I need to decide now is what colour scheme to paint this one. I was thinking not the infinity colours because everyone seems to do that - something more subtle and realistic

oh and yes, I will be working on a melee attachment

Barrel is on!

(dont touch, its drying)
What this does show is a little section of test shading i did on the body, trying out how it would look when painted.
