Imo the only character where it's not worth going down 1 skill tree path straightaway

for example at Lvl. 32 my Salvador will look like this

http://bl2skills.com/gunzerker.html#055041001000550010000000000000000

and after that I will start going all the way down the skill-path on the right, so actually I won’t even make it to a Final Skill (Come at me bro) until UVHM

funny character, but still easily the most powerful and easy to steamroll the game with

Dude…Get Some

hmm yeh

maybe I’ll try to get it. However if I do try and get it early it means I won’t get Final Skill (Come at me Bro) until really late like level 68 or something xD

Think of Get Some as a survival skill - a far better one than anything in Brawn.

It triggers every few seconds if you shoot something ( enemy, pile, barrel ), even while you’re Gunzerking - so you’ll potentially have no cooldown.

AS expires, hit it again, heal, more damage reduction, more DPS.

yes that’s a really good point

the fact that Gunzerking heals health really makes alot of the Brawn tree not needed. No other VH action skill heals immediately like this.

Sal = Borderlands 2 on easy mode

he’s basically invincible at higher levels

This right here is why it synergizes so well with Keep It Piping Hot. You get the bonus damage for Gunzerk being on cooldown, while you’re still Gunzerking!

I think I hear a quartet of OP8 Dragons that would like to have a word with you… :grinning:

Actually it is not worth with Axton, as you lost a lot synergy wise.

Axton I pretty much went straight down the middle straight away (though I put 5 into Preparation). Nuke was too good.

Looking more closely into the Get Some skill I have now had a rethink on how I will spec my Salvador

I believe I will now head down the left-hand path and end up with No Kill Like Overkill Final Skill instead of Come At Me Bro.

Brawn builds are there so you can forgo Moxxi healing, freeing up one hand for another DPS gun.

My main Sal ( OP4 ) uses a Brawn version of the Deputy build and only runs Jakobs guns in all 4 slots. All my healing comes from Brawn and either a Rough Rider or Neo shield. This build is far more fun, interesting and satisfying to me than my other OP8 NKLO Sal.

That said, taking out Vorac at OP8 by abusing NKLO is pretty damn satisfying.

In short, it depends on the guns you like to use whether to go deep into the left or right trees. In either case, Get Some and Down Not Out are mandatory skills.

Get Some is so seminal to a good Sal build that I simply cannot play without it.

I played through TVHM without a single point in Gunlust… the only thing I felt was missing was Down not out.

A well-build Rampage tree is the foundation.

I see you have yet to start UVHM with found-only gear

When Sal is well-equipped, you are right. But he is so gear-dependent that he might actually be one of the HARDEST to level up.

Also… why the hell did you skip inconceivable ??? :stuck_out_tongue:

another great skill I overlooked, I will have to rethink my Sal spec

my Sal seems to be dependent on good Maliwan pistols, I think a reason ppl find him easiest is his action skill heals him instantly (something which NO other VH action skill does straight away), it also gives him big damage reduction

I use the cooldown-buffer relic constantly with Sal, I don’t use it with any other character

With Yippee Ki Yay, Get Some, and Last Longer, you shouldn’t need a cooldown relic at all, at least for general gameplay. Your next Gunzerk should be completely cooled down by the time your previous one runs out!

hmm maybe. I don’t rely on or constantly use Gunzerk though (yet)

tbh I probably use it more as health tool, when my Sal’s health is low!

To paraphrase Marcus from the BL1 vendor : a Gunzerker without Gunzerking is just a guy with a gun.
