Do gemstone guns have higher stats then purples or are there hidden stats. Or are they basically just neat to have. I’ve been wanting a dahl mingun for awhile now and happened to watch derchs video using an emerald minigun on maya. And ive been trying to get one to drop from butt stallion. Ive heard they have slightly better stats then purples but im not sure if thats true. Luck shined upon me and i got a fire attack minigun from tinder snowflake. Literally the same stats as derchs video but it has a whole 1 damage more. Same grip but i have a jakobs stock compared to dahl on his
They have a small unlisted crit bonus and purportedly they offer some kind of bullet deflection. Mostly one gets them because they’re : #1 - very cool ; and #2 - easy-ish to farm. The advantage is basically irrelevant.

It’s more for fun or geek collectors ( like me ). Besides, it’s a great way to burn eridium after you’re done with Crazy Earl.
If you’re after something specific though, count on blowing 1000+ ( emphasis on the + )

More like 10k+ if you are even slightly picky about parts.
It’s a great way to farm purples per minute. Which is important for farming world drop weapons because it’s just random. The skin is a cool plus and 8% crit could mean the difference between needing an extra shot.

Yeah I lost count after 2000 but got 3 good ones and two great ones. I also discarded some great guns that I had no use for.
I have farmed her too much. Going for a perfect coach or quad. Got supper trolled by a perfect quad that had a 5zoom scope which ruined it.
I have about 12 really great or perfect guns from her though. Also a great skull masher from her. I’ve seen ten legendaries from her now.

I like Aquamarine Sniders. So much pretty. My main Maya uses one as her corrosive sniper; she prefers Lyudas but a corrosive one just hasn’t made it into her hands just yet.
I like the Torgue and Hyperion gemstone skins too.

It’s like a 7% crit damage buff, I think? When I’m Eridium rich, I go feed Buttstallion: it’s a great way to refill my bank account, and maybe I’ll get a cool Gemstone weapon. Gemstone weapons also count as a single exception to my no duplicate weapon rule.

They give you +100% style points. 
What they said, basically just for the collection. (and to get rid of eridium) I do love my Garnet Droog though.

I guess ill just keep trying for that gemstone version of the purple dahl minigun that i got. Its gonna be complete luck though but i love the emerald skin and another 8% crit damage to boot.

Minor crit bonus aside, the deflection is pretty fun to see, especially on Maya (Always gotta love the self-inflicted Cloud Kill). The aesthetics are the main reason for most weapons, in my opinion the Jakobs and Maliwan skins are outstanding and I farm her for the joy of seeing those skins.

If you really want to see one derch has a video on the forum somewhere and on youtube for the emerald minigun same as my purple but the green skin

Here’s a way to make you want it less:
20% chance every 5 Eridium that she drops a Gemstone. 12.6% chance that Gem is a Dahl. 7.6% chance that Dahl is an AR. I’ll let you do the math on getting your Barrel, Grip, Stock, Accessory, and Element.
