Question about the grinder in the Nexus

Probably didn’t need to start a new thread for this, but: if I grind three purple weapons in the Nexus grinder, is there a chance that those will become a Claptastic legendary?

There’s a slim chance of a legendary. Not sure if it’s restricted to Claptastic weapons or if it’s all legendaries though.

Definitely got main game legendaries countless times, but I’m wondering if the three purples have a chance to be a Claptastic one. (and that second thread is like 150 posts, I’m not digging through all that. lol)

You just need to read the first one - it was updated by the OP as the discussion evolved. I think the topic of Claptastic legendaries came up. AFAIK they’re included as a possible grinder drop; not too hard to get to that grinder once the map is unlocked though, so you could continue to experiment and update if you get something to drop!

I have countless grinds/hours in the Nexus as I thought much like yourself. Never got anything that I couldn’t have gotten from Sanctuary’s Grinder. FYI.

The best combination I’ve found to date to get a good luneshine weapon is two orange and one purple with moonstone.

For class mods it is three different class purples. For example: one purple claptrap, one purple Nisha and one purple Athena.

Or, if you are feeling adventurous, try three low to average legendary class mods. Each one for a different character.

Maybe I’ve been away for too long but, isn’t that the ONLY way to get luneshine legendary weapons? lol

to be more specific, it’s 2 vanilla game Legendary weapons and a purple rarity weapon.(the purple weapon used will be the “class” you’ll get as your result/outcome. meaning if you use a purple pistol, a pistol will be your result.) Luneshine is not guaranteed when applying moonstones to your grind. :wink: however, a legendary is guaranteed as your result when using this recipe.

Edit: if the Grinder won’t let you apply moonstones to your grind, chances are you have a non-vanilla legendary in your recipe. :wink:

Pretty much. Odds of getting Luneshine bonus from the grinder appear to run somewhere between 40-50% regardless of the item rarity being ground. Class mods are the only purple rarity item that can be ground with moonstones; and it doesn’t really matter what you throw in as far as which character class mods you use.

No they can not. The only way to get a claptactic legendary is to grind a claptastic legendary.

Same, I pretty much always go there to grind and I’ve got 1000+ grinds on Athena, Aurelia, and Claptrap. (Nisha’s getting up there too with all those E&E kills) And I love that you just casually said Sanctuary’s grinder, I’m always doing that with BL2/TPS terminology. lol

The people who scare me the most are those incapable of laughing at themselves. Also, thought of you today when I saw a banner on campus for the student centre yoga classes. It clearly said “Upward, Dawg!” I take this as confirmation that you now have to complete both the UHF Slab Tower and Buzzard’s Nest challenges.

BAR challenges. One is to climb to the top of the radio tower in Thousand Cuts, the other is to go from the bottom of Guano Grotto right to the top of the tower in iirc less than two minutes?
