Pimpernel Orbs and Gunzerking

So a friend of mine is currently playing as Sal, making his way through the OP levels. And on our most recent session we discovered a unique effect with the Pimpernel he was using. I can’t remember which gun was in which hand, but hopefully some of you know of what I’m about to describe so you should know which is where.

But, he had a slag Pimp and the Ahab. He would empty the Ahab and try to constantly remain Gunzerking. While doing so, when he fired the Pimp, it’s main pellet would remain normal and slag as intended. The orbs, however, would assume the explosive element property of the Ahab. And this would happen with any weapon he replaced the Ahab with and the element it had.

Can anyone provide some insight to what is going on?

The offhand (left hand) in this case takes on the characteristics of the main hand. In this example, the first Pimp bullet slags, and the unlisted pellets take the element of the main hand. Because the Ahab is empty, each shot gets a money shot bonus, indeed each pellet gets that bonus. Many people use the Ahab or Nukem but actually the best RL to use is a Derp Duuurp! with Bandit exhaust and Torgue grip, with a True Neutral Monk COM it and 4/5 in Filled to the Brim, it gets the magazine of the RL to 12, which is the minimum magazine required for the maximum money shot bonus.

So, it’s not so much a glitch as it is an exploit rather?

It’s an exploit in the sense it’s using the way the game has been designed in a way maybe they didn’t intend. Although i’m just speculating there.

Exactly what I meant when I used the term. :+1:

there are a few weapons in the game that are coded like this, where the secondary projectile looks to the gun in the main hand to get its element and damage value rather than the off-hand.

The Pimpernel is getting the Money Shot bonus from the Ahab for the unlisted projectiles.
