If i’m recognising this image correctly, this is near to Mal, outside Ore Chasm, right? If so, that’s the place I always assumed he spawned, which leads me to as where else??

The picture that @CheyTacs posted looks to me like the area to the right, after you pass the bridge over the Slag Scar. This was a well known spawn point when the game was fairly new, but as time passes, and players move on, information is lost. There’s no real reason to go to this particular area, and that’s why it’s easy to forget.
Perhaps it’s time to refresh those not-so-commonly-known-anymore?
