Opinion - UH vs DPUH for lvl 54 Siren

Looking for suggestions - I’m torn between two lvl 50 UH pistols. My choice in weapon is the pistol, and I lean toward fast, accurate shooters with fast reload speeds as my personal preference. I used both with the Warrior (in combination with a lvl 50 Bee shield), and while I don’t have the math to support this, “felt” the UH performed slightly better overall.

What has your personal experience been using similar UH and DPUH pistols?

I’d go with stiff. since the dpuh you have does not came from a legitimate source, i believe. same with your infinity.

Thanks, but I’m curious what it is that makes you think the Infinity and DPUH are not legit? I purchased the UH from a Torque vending machine, but the others I think came from pickups playing coop. I can’t tell off hand the difference between legit and modded, unless it’s obvious to even me (i.e. the Legendary turtle shield with no name given to me by another player). I’m pretty amazed at the amount of this that goes on in BL2, to be honest :astonished:

its the color. gray weapons are gibbed items, there some changes made in the texture of the gun. Although stats is the same as the legit gun though.

Uh huh, now I see it. Found this interesting re: the Trick Shot Infinity https://www.reddit.com/r/Borderlands2/comments/1za465/trick_shot_infinity/ I also received mine from a mass drop put out by a Kreig in Oasis (invited in). I think that was the only one I kept, but now I’m going to have a CLOSE look at my inventory! And stop accepting candy from strangers :wink:

I’d like to try a legit DPUH side by side with the one I have and check for any hidden differences. I’ll be on the lookout for my “own” DPUH just to do that. Fun and games!

Gibbed or not, I prefer the DPUH simply because it has a higher burst damage. They’re both really heavy on ammo, and not very accurate unless you’re pretty close.

I think the key here isn’t UH vs DPUH but that you’re using a Siren. You should be using those tasty SMGs!

I’d say the key here is that it’s a level 54 character asking about level 50 guns… The only reason they’re not totally obsolete is because they’re Harolds. Killing Savage Lee a few times will get one better than either of these.

My second choice for weapon is the SMG. I like the control and critical hit rate better :slight_smile:

Thanks for the suggestion…I may go visit Mr. Lee this evening for a “chat”. I realize I should be moving on to UVHM, and will do so eventually, but right now I’m just enjoying poking around in TVHM. Perhaps not the smartest idea, since I’m guessing most of my good gear will be pretty old school for UVHM.

If you’re using a Cat COM, then an SMG would be the obvious choice. But apart from that, there’s nothing that make SMG’s a better choice. It’s simply a matter of preference. But there are situations, even for a Siren, where an Unkempt Harold is superior, and that’s against crystalisks.

I’m not saying a Harold isn’t useful, just that it isn’t worth worrying about which version you have on a Siren.

For all characters the DPUH is my FFL weapon of choice…

Yes, anything you get in TVHM will be level 50. And since enemies in UVHM will be equal level with your character, they won’t be terribly effective. Ruin, Cloud Kill, and Helios should probably be enough to lean on until you reach Mr. Lee and the Sanctuary golden chest. Good luck!

Slightly late and slightly off topic but this seems to have come up a bunch in the forum very recently. Is this a recent spate? Or has this been a thing the whole time?

Too funny, the person who gave me the pistol joined me last night. He was given the Trick Shot by another gamer as well. Funny though, I actually got a real Infinity Pistol last night. Damage higher, other stats lower than the modded Trick Shot.
