I usually go with the one with big damages but I realized that each character would be good with different guns than just Jacobs and Tougens. I don’t mean what manufacture is good for all characters a mean what manufacturers are good for each one of them as you level up them. So I know what type of manufacturer go great with each on of them than just going with the big damages ones. I do mean for all the gun types. from pistols to rocket launcher

I had to think about this for a moment because I focus on gun type first, manufacturer second, but here goes:
Gaige: When looking at each manufacturer as a whole, Dahl’s stability is great with Anarchy, and all Maliwan is great for LBT tree and EB/EE chaining. (But Jakobs shotguns and Tediore launchers are fun if they have a mag size of 2. Jakobs snipers and Hyperion SMGs are also neat with Discord looping)
Zer0: Each manufacturer as a whole, I mostly prefer Jakobs or Hyperion. Dahl also works if you like Dahl. (Vladof snipers/pistols and Maliwan snipers are also recommended)

While you’re leveling up, you can’t be too picky about what you use, because random loot. Unless you have some nice gear stashed away, that is…

I think most characters can be successful with any manufacturer allegiance. I, for example, wouldn’t dream of using a Dahl or Jakobs allegiance with Salvador (for example) because they specifically preclude the use of Keep Firing (you have to let up on the trigger for Jakobs shots and Dahl bursts), and you also can’t aim down the sights while Gunzerking with Dahl gear, but at least one other person has used Salvador to great effect with one or the other of these weapon sets (and Salvador can be a brutal sniper if you build him accordingly).
Some characters do lend themselves to more synergy with certain weapon manufacturer gimmicks, as much due to their skill tree enhancements as well as their available COMs. While Maya is very adept at elemental damage, I find Gaige to be as good if not better if only because of her Legendary Catalyst COM, for example, so I use her with Maliwan gear (plus they make awesome offensive shields, which Gaige and Deathtrap can rock, plus Maliwan makes the most Moxxi-themed gear (which Gaige needs since her own healing is relatively weak, especially with Blood Soaked Shields nursing off her health bar), and Maliwan might make the best shock weapons in the game, which are great for much of Gaige’s Little Big Trouble tree.
