I just finished the Claptastic Voyage DLC on TVHM, and took the time to combine a Pitchfork, a Cheat Code, and a purple Jakobs pistol to get a level 50 Luck Cannon. Now, obviously, this isn’t going to last me all the way through UVHM, so it’s going to need upgraded eventually. Last I knew, you had to have a Claptastic Voyage Legendary in order to be able to get the Luck Cannon, hence the inclusion of the Cheat Code in my recipe. My question is, has this been debunked (it’s been a while since I played), or is it still valid? I ask because I’m trying to figure out how I would go about upgrading it as I go through UVHM, and it’s going to be a lot harder to do if I have to have a Claptastic Voyage weapon. Especially since the only guaranteed one requires beating EOS and Eclipse.
Thats the way I’ve always heard everyone does it, if you had some higher level weapons than what you are from a different character you could grind the lvl 50 luck cannon with say a couple lvl 60 items till you get another and it will bring the level up to 53 or 54 or so. Don’t remember the math on that exactly…
Farm the ear worm for longest yard laser then you always have I dlc legendary every grind.
You need 2 Claptastic Legendarys and a Purple pistol.
Thought you only had to have one CV legendary along with any other legendary but it’s been awhile since I’ve played tps… Was trying to help out being the thread was a couple days old with no replies.
I’m 90% sure for grinding Claptastic Legendarys it is
A) DLC Leg + DLC Leg + Vanilla Leg = DLC Leg
B) DLC Leg + DLC Leg + Purple of desired type = DLC Leg
C) DLC Leg + DLC Leg + Glitched = DLC Leg
I’m not certain where I heard about C) and I haven’t tried it yet myself but A and B work.
I don’t think glitch can be ground with anything but itself if I’m not mistaken…
Thats what I thought but as I said I was poking around on here somewhere about an hour ago and thought I red it in a post.
I may be wrong on that but pretty sure I tried it before and didn’t have the option to grind. I know @Kurtdawg13 has tons of time grinding in tps but he’s not on as much as he use to be and he could prob clear it up pretty quickly.
And as far as needing two dlc legs, he says in the original post he used a pitchfork along with a cheat code to get the luck cannon so that means only one dlc leg is required…
Well ■■■■ I guess I misread that. Looks like I’m no use to the OP. At least Kurt can sort this out when he strolls in since he did go Grinder happy for a while.
No worries, at least were trying to help out. Lol. I’m pretty sure when I had talked to Kurt about grinding a flayer I was gonna use the single dlc leg formula. As far as keeping that luck cannon up to par you should be able to grind the old luck cannon with a higher level regular leg and another purple pistol of higher levels using the dashboard method or equivalent of that for other systems to get a slightly higher one. That is if you don’t have the Clappy content to where you can farm the earworm as mentioned above for a higher level dlc leg.
To confirm, I did indeed get the Luck Cannon using only a single DLC Legendary. Twice, in fact. First one was a Gunstock Luck Cannon with a Scav grip and a Tediore sight, while the second is a Trick Shot Luck Cannon with a Vladof grip and sight. The second one isn’t much better than the first, but I realized I’d used the wrong Purple pistol when putting in the materials, so I Dasboarded and kept trying.
As for Earworm, I haven’t actually faced it yet. I was bum-rushing the DLC storyline on both occasions that I managed to complete it, so most of the sidequests I haven’t actually done. I’ll definitely keep him in mind when I am looking to upgrade, though. I was told that the Level 50 Luck Cannon will at least get me through the story if I don’t do any sidequests. It’s been doing well so far, though I keep running into Ultimate Badass Muggers that bring me to a standstill because they insist on spawning last. By the time I’m aware of them, everything else is dead, so I have no way to proc Kill Skills or get a Second Wind. Everything else, including other types of Badass and even bosses, i don’t have trouble with. It’s just this one type of enemy.
As for using the existing Luck Cannon as the DLC Legendary, that’s what I may end up doing. I was originally against it, but I did the math, and two Level 60 weapons and the Level 50 Luck Cannon I already have would give me a Level 56 Luck Cannon. At Level 60, I’d prefer something closer to my level, but that would at least make the weapon usable again, so I’ll take what I can get.
Be sure to have at least one good cryo weapon equipped for those muggers if possible. Once you get there the Fatale is an easy farm pretty early on to help handle the badasses that give you trouble. Even a cryo nade would help get them frozen so you can put them on down with the luck cannon or maybe a good Torgue shotty.
Get yourself a good cryo weapon (even a Fridgia from NVHM would suffice for freezing) and then let the bonus explosive proc from the Luck Cannon do its thing. You’ll be surprised at just how quickly you melt those mean muggers.
This weapon is driving me NUTS.
I have four DLC weapons I got from a friend of Mine. And I’ve been trying to make Luck Cannon using the Grinder for almost 4 hours straight, using the recipes people are discussing here, to no avail. I didn’t even get a single DLC weapon. ALL the game gives me are normal legendaries.
Am I doing something wrong? Do these DLC weapons need to be farmed, nota given?
Thanks in advance.
PS.: Playing on PS4.
