Peak advice for Gaige

Just hit 72 and am itching to start the peak with Gaige but admittedly a little nervous.
Looking for advice.
Must have gear?
To grog or not to grog?
Fibber/close enough a must?
This is my build

 • Enemies are resistant to fire despite their health bar.
 • The onion garden is a trick; be careful there.
 • Black Queens will spawn more Spiderants when they get to a certain point in their health: kill them quick to keep those numbers down.
 • Have a plan to handle Surveyors. Big ones.
 • Keep as many midgets alive in the combat against Dukino’s Mom - they’re your ticket to a Second Wind.
Must have gear?
The map expands to its full capacity as you play through. Your first few forays into the Peak will be relatively short (not necessarily easy), but you should be able to manage the first couple levels with your favorite gear. Ascending the Peak without the game’s top-tier gear (Pimpernel, Sandhawk, DPUH, etc.) during the last few levels is something few people do, however. I’ll leave that advice to the professionals.
To grog or not to grog?
That’s your call - I certainly used it, but it’s not mandatory.
Fibber/close enough a must?
No, but if you’re already familiar with that playstyle with Gaige, it certainly works.
This is my build
I might reconsider some of those skill allotments, especially for the later playthroughs. Off the cuff, Shock Storm is probably not going to hit anything, and The Stare is fire damage (which will be shrugged off here). I see that you’re not really building around Deathtrap (The Stare notwithstanding), but a point in Robot Rampage and a point in Make it Sparkle can be the difference between Deathtrap being cannon fodder or killing enemies for you.

Thanks for the reply.
I should have been more specific, I have gotten axton, Maya, and zero to OP8 solo so I’ve been thru the peak many many times.
Just curious what I should do gear/build wise for Gaige.
And yes, I don’t use DT very much unless I’m In trouble and need him to take some aggro. That may be because I haven’t taken enough time to really try much in the bff tree. (I spent a lot more time researching the other chars and builds than I have with Gaige)
I have pimps and sandhawks, bee, antagonist, quasar, really anything but the fibber. Been waiting to farm that up and have it avail on all 4 chars so that I can get one every few OPs

When it comes to your build try something like this with a Leg. Anarchist Com if you have one. This way deathtrap will actually be able to deal some damage while he’s out, as opposed to just being there to occupy some of them, and because of make it sparkle you can ping him with something corrosive so he can really go to town while you’re running the peak. Note: If you want to you can drop a point in unstoppable force, and put it into rational anarchist if you really want to as the Leg. Anarchist com boosts unstoppable force anyway, but if you’re pre-stacking then it really doesn’t matter.

Ok thank you!
I will definitely take your advice and switch it up. I only have a leg catalyst mod at the moment. I was saving all of the leg mechro mods in my stash for when I hit 72 but when I cross saved to PS4 I lost everything in my stash. Been hunting tubbies and llms for a few days now.
So those are def on my list of things to get before starting the peak.
