So, having perused the forums a good bit–and the other parts of the interwebs–I have become a little confused. I merely seek clarification and insight from the veterans of this gaming world.
But as the topic alludes, I have a question about a Storm Front Grenade Mod I’ve come across. I understand that this mod will ALWAYS be shock elemental and I also know about the prefixes that determine their particulars. (Longbow, homing, rubberized, etc)
The one I saw was named “Shock Storm Front” and it didn’t seem to have all the markers of a modded item. I’ve even seen three different level variants. All seemed legit except for the name giveaway.
So I guess I’m asking if this is really a modded item or not? I know there’s controversy surrounding modding and I don’t partake or intend to. I just wanted a little insight.
Thanks in advance!

Check this thread, which has multiple posters confirming that there’s no legitimate grenade mod called a “Shock Storm Front”:
Storm front will NEVER have any prefix other than delivery. Without diving too deeply, payload takes precedence over element and the storm front payload is always shock (literally, otherwise it becomes a different vladof grenade) so delivery becomes the prefix.
i had one of those back in my nooby days. i always wondered y i was getting booted after spamming them and killing everything. i wish a gearbox mod would come in and just sweep all modded items from pandora.

We’d never hear the end of it if they did lol @Cg3
Mods are fun under the right circumstances and in good company, but not for actual game play. They take the strategy out of it so people can just lazily bulldoze through a game. (In my own opinion of course)
