Did a spiderant pseudo-b0re my turret?

So I was in the Dust with Axton, hunting for tubbies. Had my turrets out (I’m specced into Gemini/DoubleUp with mag-lock also specced) and as a spiderant was firing web crap at one of them and hitting it, I heard the sound effect of the web hitting glitch in the same way the b0re sound effect does (the same sound playing over itself a billion times) when you go through multiple hitboxes, and my turret went down almost instantly. I think I read somewhere that mag-lock can mess with the hitbox of the turret (I’m guessing the turret has two hitboxes when you take mag-lock, one for the base and one for the rest of the turret) but I’d never actually experienced that til now.

Interesting… could this be tested during a duel with another character (for whom the turret should become a hittable target)? Trying to re-create that with enemies seems like it would take forever… I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in practice. Also, does Spiderant web have pseudo-bore? You might need to test this with a weapon that has similar properties (Godfinger comes to mind, but I thought there were others).

Some of the spiderant hits do make a very similar sound to B0re - IIRC the ones that do the web-slinging thing that temporarily obscures your vision. Are you sure it wasn’t that?

This happens to me all the time, but only when it’s a Spiderant Knight doing the melee strike/ground stomp right next to the turret. Never happened with a regular web throw or jump/rolling attack. I never thought of relating the multiple hit sound to bore. I just thought that attack was actually doing multiple consecutive hits at the same time. You might be on to something here.

Are you sure a spiderant didn’t just unearth under your turret?

The turret that went down was maglocked high up on the side of a cliff because I didn’t want spiderants swarming in to melee it. (For the record, it was that little bi-level area where a semi-large number of spiderants spawn before you get to the buildings where the bandits and Black Queen are.) I’m gonna play around with it again tonight to see if I can recreate what happened.

Record it if you can, then we can all be detectives and help.

Not sure about spiderants since I rarely put turrets up high when facing them, but Goliaths at least can jump pretty high with their melee pound - they can easily reach a turret on the 2nd or 3rd story of the buildings at the entrance to the Beatdown, for example. So keep your eyes open for flying spiderants!

I believe I have had a similar effect when I chuck Gunerangs and the reload comes back and hits my turret.

It’s probably a hitbox issue like B0re.

Gave it a few runs last night, but nothing. Maybe just a fluke or I saw something that wasn’t really happening, but I’ll keep a watchful eye out.

It just happened to me! Granted the turret was behind me mag-locked to the cliff wall so I didn’t see it happening ; but I was farming in The Dust and heard that crazy B0re-ish sound and found my turret uprooted from the wall and a bundle of webs around it. Never heard that sound before. So good news - you’re no crazier than I am.

Yeah, it had happened again to me the other day but I didn’t witness it unambiguously so I didn’t want to mention it (again in the Dust vs spiderants). Heard the telltale sound glitch, turned around to see my dead turret tumbling down the cliffside. I’m almost 100% convinced now.
