I know there are many posts on this already, and that BL2 is getting kinda old for idk, haha. So I’m at lvl 72 UVHM farming the LLMs with Doctors Orders active, no logs collected, which is good so I get 4 midgets every time. But I am speculating wether the number of slag samples you collect also affects this whole loot-run. Specifically if their chance of dropping pearls are in any way affected by this. Have done probably 15-25 runs today, loads of relics, a few legendaries and no pearls. ?

No, it does not. Slag samples are part of the main WEP story mission, not the Doctor’s Orders side quest. The only thing I have found is that, if you don’t collect all 10, it seems to affect where you spawn when you restart the game (at least on 360).

Since the pearls were added in well after the “Inside the Box” loot articles, there’s no official accounting for how those affect the %chance in terms of drop rarity. Subjectively, my observation is that you’re more likely to get a legendary or relic than a pearl, but they do drop occasionally.
