I wish we had a CHOICE whether to have all that sexual talk in the game (it is also in Borderlands 2 - ESPECIALLY Tiny Tina). I don’t see what purpose it serves - and much of it seems to be more or less messaging rather than character identity. I don’t know what anyone else thinks but I think the game does not benefit from all the nasty sexual talk - and I really do not appreciate the character I am playing engaging in it, because it takes away from the immersion. Moxxie is forever corrupted - I liked it better when there was a little mystery about her, now she’s just a dirty freak.
I like the innuendo, particularly with Moxxi, I think it serves to add a little more unorthodox humour to the game. Some of the ■■■■ Moxxi says when you tip her in Sanctuary makes me laugh and have to cross my legs, and I swear I only do it for the Good Touch. Er, the gun, the Moxxi gun called the Good Touch…
This is a game with adult comedy themes.
At this point it would be a bit like complaining about the lascivious or lewd comments in South Park.
This game in no way concentrates on bawdy language, and frankly speaking, save Moxxi, it’s hard to find an overtly sexual character.
And that’s how Handsome Jack REALLY lost his face.
Moxxi put sandpaper in there just incase Jack tried to motor boat her, and of course he did…
I think they’re just coarse by nature. Jack has no face, Mordy wears a mask, I have to believe that Marcus was not always that ugly because, well, Moxxi. You don’t just motorboat Moxxi, you get the propeller
Maybe she is a secret siren and her power is phase prop…
On closer inspection she does have a tattoo on her left breast. It’s probably not related, but I think it might be related. More observation needed, hold my face?
I’ll go get some bandages
I couldn’t disagree with you more. I say we need more of it.
Lol! I would agree with @Kurtdawg13, the trouble is I have really high standards when it comes to sexual innuendo. This is actually a real nuisance as it makes me quite unmoved. The thing is, I’ve studied literature for coming up to a decade now and I’ve seen an absurd amount of attempts to be risqué (mostly by men who find the similarity of the words ‘pen’ and ‘penis’ hilarious). It’s not easy to be impressed these days. It never quite comes off for me, if you see what I mean.
I actually love Moxxi though, particularly in 2 and p-s, because I think she’s hilarious and very ironic indeed. Women in video games tend to be so predictably and uncreatively sexualised, and she makes fun of that stereotype (I’m not sure whether the boys who exploit that sanctuary glitch to see her underwear appreciate how much that type of thing is mocked by the game).
Borderlands flirts with sexual themes but it’s not exactly The Good Ship Venus (would upload my arrangement of this poem but it blows forum rules out of the water, so you’ll need to try googling Friggin’ in the Riggin’).
“Let’s make face gravy!”
Eww?
I don’t know if @Giuvito (or anyone else) plays Bl2 in Italian, but the Goliath voicing is incredible in that version. As is handsome Jack actually - I love the shameless North American arrogance of the original and how it contrasts with his evil, but the Italian voice acting is truly chilling (and quite sexy actually, in a disturbing way).
I freaking love the wee Lanister! By far my favorite character.
