Any way to see current drop rates in my game or check for a bug?

So yeah. I played a lot before the x3 times Legendary update.
I farmed and have gotten a lot of legendaries since I started the game. Assigned and random ones.
But since I am playing again after the hotfix, I have gotten jack-■■■■.
My game is updated to 1.8.4 on steam.
So is there a way to look into the code and see what the droprates actually are when you’re ingame?
Or is there a way to check if it’s a bug?
Is it even possible that the game is bugged and the hotfix was not applied, or changed the drop-rates in a negative way?
Why am I thinking that something is wrong? I never had issues to farm and actually drop Legendaries.
But now, I have them.
I needed to farm for specific things lately.
To be exactly: A Hellfire, a Sham, a Norfleet, Lyudas (Verucs), Terra shield and random Pete runs.
Let’s start with Hellfire. Killed Scorch 30 times. Didn’t get one.
Sham. Killed Bunker. Now. I am fully aware that Bunker is stingy since he has the Sham, The Bitch and heads in the 10% pool. I killed him 50 times. And I never seen any of the 10% loot items. Not a head (skins if he drops any, I don’t know right now), not a Bitch and no Sham.
This makes 80 kills in total.
A Norfleet. 100 Kills. I had an interesting conversation with a friend so it was basically an automated process. Took me about 4 hours. I dropped 1 WTF. Which was a world drop.
180 kills without any assigned drop.
Lyudas. I remember farming countless lyudas and Veruc in the past. Now I killed Mobley and Gettle 50 times each. I’ve seen 2 Verucs and 0 Lyudas.
280 kills with possible 10% for any Legendary drop and only 2 legendary drops.
Now Terra. I know he’s an arse. I killed him 40 times before I ragequit. 40 classmods, but those aren’t in the Longnail/Relic/Shield/grenade/shotgun/skins and heads pool.
I haven’t gotten anything from him.
If I remember correctly, I killed him countless times before and only ever gotten the relic.
320 kills and only 2 guns.
Now Pete. I know he has a big-ass loot pool. I assume there is a 10% chance to drop ANY Legendary from the pool upon killing him.
I recall killing him a lot and getting many items. I even got all my Shams from him. Which are I believe 3 or 4.
Killed Petey for 40 times.
Now I got one WTF. Which is also a world drop I assume.
This makes 360 kills with a 10% chance of getting any/specific assigned Legendary with only 2 actual drops. Which, if my math is correct translates to 1/180 or 0.0055555555555556 Legendaries instead of the assumed 0.1.
Now I do not believe I just was unlucky. Not with a 10% chance on dropping things. With the old 3% I would say: “Yeah, not a lucky day”. But not with a 10% base chance.
So anyway. Is there a way to actually check the live drop rates or if any bug is present within my game?

That is not surprising at all. 1 in 10 is what is average but that doesn’t mean you will get one every ten kills. There is no memory so you could try 100 times and not get it, you could get it in one. Everytime you roll the die.

While in 50 I would expect to get something but it could happen also on bunker because he drops so much its easy to miss something.

No the 1 in 10 is for assigned drops, not world drops. World drops are still rare even on pete but if you kill him enough you should see some.

This is just RNG you get hot and cold runs.

@Derch I’m fully aware how drops work and that it does not remember nor save anything and I roll a dice everytime. But I am pretty sure there is something wrong when I roll a 1-sided dice around 300 times and do not get it while when I play Krieg I have 3-4 chains of Slapping myself in the face with 12% chance.

Your results seem like bad luck for sure but a 1 in 10 chance is still rare and theoreticly you could go 500 times and not get it. There is no guarantee for anything.

The original 1 in 30 came from @HeyCarNut’s work collecting an insane amount of data to come up with it.

It’s just the nature of RNG and the human nature of confirmation bias, just like the 12% StV you brought up, you notice the bad chains but not the good. There have been many people that have run tests on it and yeah it is 12%.

I can’t count the number of threads questioning the RNG because of bad runs, but that is just RNG. Just keep farming and your luck will turn around.

Actually, that’s 30 Scorch kills, 50 Bunker kills, 100 Hyperius kills (with a world drop), 50 Mobley/Gettle kills (with 2 drops, so an average of one drop for each 25 kills), 40 Terra kills and 40 Pete kills (with a world drop). I feel that every time you switch to a different farm, you’re kinda resetting your chances and starting over (statiscally speaking, of course). The results you got seem unlucky for sure, but still pretty consistent with the x3 drop rates and what most people tend to get. I’d say there’s nothing in those numbers that would indicate a bug, but just a bad luck streak. Like Derch said, a 1/10 chance doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get a drop every 10 tries. Also, I don’t think the enemies you’re farming are the best to get a grip on the drop rates. You wanna test your drop rates? Go farm Knuckledragger. See how long it takes you to get a Hornet. If you go for more than 30 tries without getting at least one, I’d be surprised.

Also has the advantage of being one of the fastest farming runs in the game. I alternate between him and Savage Lee when I’m having doubts about things.

Wasn’t there someone keeping track of Bunker kills recently? I’ve always had the impression that he hasn’t lived up to the 1 in 10 rate since it was patched in, but maybe it’s another case where gear can glitch through the floor/walls and disappear. (One of the assassins was kind enough to do that to me the other week.)

He’s given me literally NOTHING every time I farmed him.

As for Hyperius, took me just over 160 kills to get a Norfleet.

I had Bunker’s loot drop down to the lower level once when the kill on him matched what I needed to level up and the ‘level up!’ animation seemed to cancel out his lootsplosion (I made a post about this a while back but I can’t remember the exact thread…)

A perfect recent example I can give regarding random = random.

Farming the 4 assassins on 2 seperate play sessions netted me: 2 Emperors, various high quality Fremington Edge’s, various skins allocated to their pools. But no Dog in the parts I want.

Last night I farmed and farmed (something about 3 hours in one go) MidgeMong for a KerBlaster, to no avail.

Well the thing is. I already have 7 Norfleets from him from before the patch. I got them all from maybe…200 kill. Sadly no fire one. that’s why I’m farming him. To have a fire and a corrosive FFYL weapon.
P.S. I feel WTF is assigned to Hyperius. I got another one again.

I did the number crunching, and for that project in the old fora I specifically contributed zero data, to stave off any claims I’d fudged data (you know, from the nut-cases whose names shall not be spoken)…

The real credit there goes to the group that started the project and did the killing to get data (and with my %&&^! recall for user names, I can’t name them).

In any case, OP seems to have had a run of luck so bad that other possibilities like missed drops, game bugged (on their copy, not in general), unintentional hyperbole from counts not rigorously tracked, ninja-looting (if others in game),etc. might be considered.

Completely normal and expected with the ~12% probability. Back in the old days many complained and called “BUG!” when K. introduced, debunked by science

No evidence any such “reset” is in the game (as in coded), shown by the original RNG/Loot/Drop rate project.

No need to do such a thing in any case - the waiting time to a success is geometrically distributed, so you’re always the same average number of tries away from your next success, no matter how many tries you’ve already made nor how many failures or successes those prior tries encompass…
