Finding class mods with ammo regen?

Sup.
So I’m playing through BL recently and I know these exist. I had one on my Lilith when I played the game before I had to wipe my PC. Since then I started completely new. And here’s the thing: I cannot find a single mod with ammo regen. My Lilith is 57. I did a helluva lot of Claptrap chest runs (to get Hellfires and Anarchists every 3-4 levels or so) I did the farmory about 10 times. I even found a Pearl and countless Legendaries. Even bugged ones like the Auto sniper, which is purple. But not a single class mod with SMG ammo regen. Same for Mordecai. Hes 27. Not a single Sniper mod with ammo regen.
How and where do I find these? I heard people said New Haven shop is a place. Is that true? Is New Haven the only shop I can find ammo regen mods in the game?
I don’t believe I’m so unlucky that I didn’t even see a single one at playing a VH to 57 and another one to 27.

The thing about BL1 is it truly is random. Unlike BL2, there are no farm places for the best gear (except for Krom’s Sidearm, which I like but I know others don’t, and the Roaster), so you really have to take pot luck.

Farmoury is still the best for extended chance of good loot, including COMs. Craw’s not bad, either and usually pumps out a few

I vendor formed for one for over a week and still didn’t get one. I started at the first location and just traveled down the list checking all the vendors.

If you want one really badly, vendor farming will work in time. I think the Underdome is best - just save and quit and reload over and over and over again…all 3 machines are right there, along with the bank.

Unless I’m wrong on the material parts, this would affect Ammo Regen on Sniper COMs.
Meaning, you’d have to test them to check for ammo regen.

@MeltintheSun had a good one. Underdome is where I vendor farmed level 69 Nades. only buying the blue/purple rarity.

Craw is good for COMs as well as the Armory.

Yeah. Tried him. Have no idea how to kill the backspot. Hiding behind rocks with Phasewalk and trying to shoot his back does not work like in the videos I’ve seen since he turn around instantly and attacks me.

yes this works but takes practice. you need a weapon that can 1-shot Craw’s crit spots. you have to be on point when you come out of phasewalk you get a split second to get the 1-shot off. its not easy. :wink:

Uhm. Out of curiousity. Which non-pearl gun can oneshot Craws spot with Lilith?

@Stoker can probably explain this better. Professional com for Dahl gear is needed and a masher anaconda works quite well.

i have a swift anaconda with masher barrel thanks to Stoker :smile:

With a Professional that has the best line for damage (61%) and +4 in High Velocity, you can take out every spot with a level 67 or 68 desert masher. A level 66 desert, the urban material at any level below 68, and a Professional with +3 in High Velocity will make his back a 2-shot kill. A perfect desert shotgun with mag’ 5 and the terrible accessory can take out all spots if you’re accurate enough, too. Running a Tormentor COM with the 14% damage line can make a material 1 and 2 Unforgiven Masher a 1-shot on every spot and the elemental bonuses help with taking out the minions, too. It’s a pretty underrated setup against Craw.

The reason why you’re not finding many COMS (Gunslinger, Mercenary, and Sniper) with ammo regeneration is because they’re slightly more rare. The regeneration comes from material 3 on all of those.

That’s indeed a nice explanation.
The good thing, I have a masher Anaconda. The bad thing, I never ever seen a Dahl Professional Class mod. Where do I get that one from?
Edit. My research showed that Crawmerax drops them. Well. I might having trouble finding a mod I need to kill Craw that is only dropped by Craw.

Finding a perfect one might take you a while, but they’re not extremely rare. If you were on 360 I could give you a decent one because I save most of the ones that are close to perfect for friends. Got any anarchies or a good double smg? You could probably manage with that until you’re about 10+ kills in and start finding better gear. That or just use that masher without the COM for now; it shouldn’t be too hard. A good starting setup (and what I usually run with on all of my new characters) would be any Defiler or Plague/Crux you can get your hands on for the armored worms, a Hellfire or incendiary revolver for the green ones, any shock revolver or shotgun for the maggots, and pretty much the best spike damage weapon or smg you can find for Craw. Shotguns, anarchies, mashers, etc. Start with somethin’ like that and each kill will get a little bit easier 'cause you’ll most likely be finding better upgrades after each drop.
