I hate Arms Dealing mission

I registered to this forum just to say this.

That’s all. Thank you for reading.

You and a lot of other players! But be prepared for a few posts telling you how you can do it easily using the teleport trick.

Oh, and welcome to the forums - always good to see a new face!

Who doesn’t hate this mission?

I don’t know if there is a timed mission that I do like in any borderlands game

^Fixed it.

I hate timed “Race the Clock” or other variations of this in any game. It interrupts the flow of the game. At least this one is an easily skipable side quest, the ones that are mandatory to stories are the WORST! (Glares at his copies of Halo Games)

EDIT: Unless it is “kill X Enemies” that fits into the story.

Hate them too, I skip them without any kind of shame

Lol it’s certainly not my favorite.

Semi-related: I’ll tell you what I do hate: BAR challenges that give 1 point. Last time I did Arms Dealing, I actually took the time to find all those damn wind sails in Overlook. Probably took me a solid 15-20 minutes to get them all, and what was my reward? 1 BAR.

They should be a minimum of 5, especially something that requires you to drive all over a huge map and find 8 different things.

Not that it’s fun but it’s pretty easy if you tackle it right.

Just go clobber everything you can in the delivery zone before you start the mission.

Yeah, I know. For the package on the schoolbus, I go to the stilts houses, kill everyone, and even leave a car to teleport to…it’s still not any fun though

Yeah but, once you know where they are, it’s dead easy to get both them AND the communication towers while doing the other missions, which makes it an easy-peasy 1 bar for each. If you want bad BAR challenges, unlocking the hidden shotgun and rocket ones, exceeded only by “Crouching Tiger”. Now that’s just plain mean…

I’m sorry, but no matter how easy it is, 1 point is absolutely worthless. Lol

I enjoy trying to figure out the optimal way to pre-place vehicles for teleportation and pre-clearing the map. If there was no timer, we’d just be driving around at our leisure (but if there was no teleportation, I’d probably only do it once to get it off the list).

Same here. Hate that quest. Good thing you can teleport between Catch-a-ride systems.
My OCD doesn’t allow for skipping quests though >.>

I just did that quest. I don’t hate it, although when I picked it up for the first time I kept failing until I had a really good route for it. I had almost 2 min left after the last arm. Could’ve driven back but it’s made a lot easier by leaving a second car by Overlook and teleporting back to that. The Marcus one in Eridium Blight is one of my least favorite missions in the game though.

This one, I personally don’t mind. The timer becomes very generous unlike the one in Arms Dealing.

The absolute best way to deal with it is to simply clear out all the areas before starting the mission. “Arms dealing” is still a bit tight on time, but I usually finish it with 20 - 30 seconds to spare. To do this, you need to keep one thing in mind: Don’t pick up the first arm at Overlook when you begin. Just get close to the mailbox, and you’ll see that the mission gets an update. Then you can pick them up in whichever order you want. The timer starts when you pick up the first arm.

In solo play I’ve found success while doing this mission to go to the furthest mailbox first, then work my way back.

I don’t mind timed missions like these. It’s like a puzzle, where the player needs to find the most effective/efficient route towards different goals. Once you can figure out the route, doing it again becomes easy.

The racetrack in the Badass Canyon of Badassitude is sort of the same way. Tier 3 difficulty requires certain shortcuts and precision and which I think is fun to master and is an easy way to get tokens.

I also hate the mission from the happy pig motel for the same reason. I never cared for timed missions.

That’s the way to do it! :acmaffirmative:

But I have to agree with most of you here… Timed missions SUCK! I hate them from the bottom of my black heart! The person responsible for incorporating such missions in a game should be keelhauled.
