Proletarian Revolution vs. purple Anarchist?

So I just got one of these to drop from EOS in a random farmin session (Patriot’s prefix), and I was wondering what makes it special. I did some research, from reading the wikia to viewing videos to shooting the test dummies in Deck 13_1/2. What I found out hasn’t really impressed me much.

According to the wikia page, the Proletarian Revolution (ProRev, for short) can have an increasing mag size and “more power” over time, if left idle while eqipped as the active weapon. I tested it out, and the mag size part works but the “more power” doesn’t. This makes me believe that the ProRev’s only real gimmick is its growing mag size. If that is the case, then its gimmick is pretty lame and generally useless since it tends to have a large mag size to begin with.

I tried comparing it to a purple Anarchist on the test dummies. The stats were very similar, with differences being minor and probaby due to differing parts. Still, the ProRev is a very nice weapon, but it seems to have no different functionality from a very rare purple Anarchist pistol. Am I missing something, or is this just another underwhelming legendary from the game?

I don’t think I ever knew that? How big does the magazine get?

You can get the magazine to grow up to 900 rounds, the max ammo pool for pistols (outside of stockpile bonuses from equipment, if any).

Well that’s interesting (damage buff or no)! Let me think… how can I legitimately take advantage of this. Any characters have a buff based off not letting up on the trigger (like Salvador’s “Keep Firing”)? 900 rounds practically makes it an Infinity, but without the lemniscate shot pattern. Any characters have a buff like Gaige’s “The Better Half”? You’d get 450 rounds with her fire rate buff, for example.

I haven’t been to TPS for a while.

My purging revolution ( all vladof is better than my all vladof purging anarchist due to the bigger ammo capacity. Both are non-elemental .

The “900-round” mag size makes it operate more like a pseudo-CHOPPER than an Infinity. With the Infinity, you can still fire indefinitely as long as one round still remains in the stockpile; the ProRev still needs ammo in order to keep firing after it exhausts the 900-round mag.

As for taking advantage of it, I tried looking through all the TPS Vault Hunters to see if something does exist like Gaige’s “The Better Half.” Unfortunately, I still haven’t found any use for the ProRev’s potentially insane mag size.

The only real advantage I have found is that you can ALWAYS reload, resetting 3 of Nisha’s reload-based skills.

Otherwise, it’s meh

Its an anarchist with a huge mag size. Whats not to love? Theres no reason to really go for or use an anarchist if you have one. I always loved all the purple vladoof pistols, so the revolution is a real treat. Espicially when i have a mag of 300 bullets or more with my nisha. It just shreds everything like they werent even there to begin with.

It does quickly overcome the draw back of Aurelia’s Large Caliber skill. So it’s a good pistol for her, especially if you find it in Cryo.
