Soo, has anyone done this mission yet? I’m not sure I wanna blow 200 Moonstones on it…
It unlocks a gun crate with glitched weapons in it.
Me and my wife did it. It gave us like 4 glitxhed weapons, and I used like 2 right off the bat, which made the rest of the DLC cake. I would suggest doing it (And I NEVER used the moonstone crates or Moxxtails)…its actually a good ivestment.
The thing is, Moonstones drop so often it is basically a non-issue. Besides, you have a high chance on glitched gear from the chest. It gave me a decent Jakobs SR.
I’m pretty sure that chest gives you a guaranteed 3 or 4 glitched weapons. Of course, for 200 Moonstones, it better be a guarantee.
You can’t buy another shot at the chest on the same play-through. So make sure on TVHM and UVHM you save it until after finishing the main game’s story.
I only tried on TVHM with just the one character so far. Since it’s a side quest, I assume it’ll be available on all three play-throughs.
Hey all, thanks for the replies. Moonstones weren’t really an issue, but I’m still on my 1st playthtrough with the character I brought in, so I don’t have all the upgrades yet and didn’t want to just burn 200 of them on something stupid, like General Knoxx’s giant bullet or something…
I got 4 different weapons from this. All are 30th lvl like Athena, two of which have element’s of fire, and a Torgue Bladed Spitter. They all perform nicely, all have scopes or sites, and heh, digitally-dramatic, but what is their special and/or unique pink abilities? {I would -swear- all the weapons’ names are jokes on the true name, but I have no memory…}
Thanks and have fun!
I had just over 200 moonstones when i got the quest, so i turned it in right away.
I got a launcher, pistol, AR, and a Corrosive laser (all glitched) that won the DLC for me.
Well worth it, IMO!
Even when i obsessively farmed other chests i came across throughout the DLC, they were all VERY cheap with glitched weapons.
Hi again. You all are mentioning “glitched weapons” but I don’t know what that is a reference to. I assume some negative element of each weapon. As I mentioned before, all the weapons that I had got had a pink casting. Is that an indicator of what is a glitch? My weapons all seem to ‘work’ just fine, at least as I can tell.
Take care…
Those weapons have a chance to get a special effect on reload. You can tell because they’ll change color, and it lasts until the next reload or until you switch weapons. There’s a topic in the lootology section dedicated to them, but basically,
red=magnum mode
Yellow=burst mode
Green=shotgun mode
Blue=amp mode
All are useful, I encourage you to explore them yourself
Got a great Coach Gun for my Jack from it. Yellow Glitch is god mode. Always worth it, since Moonstones are so easy to get and glitch guns are awesome.
Thanks guys. Man I’m an idiot! I now notice that the ‘glitch’ reference is to the (awesome) “fragged computer” graphics on every one of the pink weapons. I’d forgotten that my Athena (who -just now- got to 32nd lvl) has 6 glitchy weapons, 3 of those being assault rifles. I play my characters slowly since A) I spend too much time with the Grinder, and B) I have 3 characters apiece, one per skill tree of each character, except for the Baroness who has 2. Not into multiplayer games. Jeez I just today ‘discovered’ that some of those ads are interactive.
Thx for the headsup on this quest. I LOVE glitched weapons. My Jakobs pistol which fire two bullies normally combined with pirate ship mode shreds EOS shield. When it’s on red mode… I was lvl. 36 and it tore through a much higher lvl. player like he was made of wet paper.
That’s the kind of shotty i was hoping for with my epic grind session!
Finally settled for a 4 across the board (4 in each glitch category) Cryo SMG.
are the weapons spec’d to your character level?
In Normal mode (only mode Ive fplayed the DLC in) no, they are around level 30.
