Fastball pitcher Axton build, seriously overpowered!

This is how Axton one shots things, legitimately with no BAR at op8. (not my video)

Quite sad that people think Axton is underpowered, this build is a monster and destroys things at op8. some exceptions of course, certain bosses, constructers etc who resist grenade damage.

I’ve long been of the opinion that Axton is too tier for solo play. He’s great for everything from level 1 to OP8, and can be used effectively with multiple builds and styles. In fact, he probably has more build diversity than anyone else. Tediore chucking/Explosive, Double Up + Gemini, Nuke + Gemini, and I’ve even done OP8 Peak runs with a Double Up + Duty Calls build centered on the Bekah. All of it works great.

Actually he can one shot with a ton of guns with no bar on OP8.

I would know I main him and never have my BAR on, I also have one of the highest BARs here.

So, what about Fastballer Salvador? How effective is Double Your Fun with the Fastball?

It’s double the effectiveness at half the accuracy.

Double Your Fun works better with grenades that don’t rely on precision, like Storm Front, Fire Bee, Magic Missile, Chain Lightning, etc.

I love the fastball. I’ve got explosive, shock, fire and corrosive fastballs. I get most of my second winds with those and do or die. I got my first one from a loot midget on a run to farm the bunker and had never heard of it prior to that. After I found out they come from boll in three horns, I made him my primary enemy to farm. The only element I don’t have is slag but I have the magic missle, slagga and a slag gwen’s head.

Just like a Slag Infinity, it doesn’t exist.

@mannyhorwitz - Fastball Axton is one of my favorite metas for the character. I did an entire Tiny Tina’s campaign run using that build you see in the first video.

Here is my shot at the Bloodshot Stronghold using Fire Fastballs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6S_iir-XlM
I find that the aim for the Fastballs is just about on the left targeting reticle.

hey afro, nice :). I use the explosive fastball with the the 39% explosive relic as no enemies resist explosive, except the constructers :(. If you noticed, everything you basically one shotted, most of the time I didn’t even see you use slag, lol. The armoured enemies though took 3-4 fastballs with the fire one. I guess slagged up 2 ;).

hey blufatal, what weapons do you recommend with axton which one shots like the fastball? Or at least kills things as fast and comfortable like a maya with a cat com and sandhawks (no bee). I also play with my bar off and my axton is op8 if that helps. thankyou.

If you can get the range right, the Flakker is very lethal in Axton’s hands.

would be better with explosive krieg right? The flakker is amazing, just difficult to use ;(

On the subject of Fastball Salvador, it’s great, but not for the reason you think.

The fastball itself is just a tool. You throw it and kill something, this activates NKLO with a massive overkill bonus (usually enough to get the X5 ceiling on any gun), and you then have 8 seconds of pure awesome for your guns

Krieg is more of a close quarters combat (shotgun and pistol range) character than Axton is; Axton is more mid-range (SMG and AR range), so the Flakker works better on Axton than Krieg. Plus Axton can boost the damage better than Krieg: the Flakker doesn’t process Blood Bath, so it’s fairly worthless on a character who is rarely still in combat.

Flakker is easy to use against groups or bigs. Because of the extra slag source, I’ve found it very efficient even as Double Up + Gemini Axton. Quasar to group, then blanket the cluster. It gets into this progression where you’re constantly killing and slagging multiples.

I’ve never had an easier time with Creature Slaughter than I had with my Flakker runs.

Thankyou gulf and handsome dad.

damn, op8 creature with the flakker? Was that exclusive?

Pretty much, yeah. It’s substantially easier than it sounds. At least, it was easy with 2 turrets. I think I used a Bekah when the big varkids tried to float too far away. May have been a Pimpernel. The Flakker did the heavy lifting, though.

A byproduct of double slagging and AOE killing is that you’re getting everything closer to death while also delivering killing hits. Consequently, Quick Charge, Onslaught, and Metal Storm are always up, Able is always up, and constant QC means Preparation is usually up. So… You fly around at high speed with shield and health regen streaming.
