I’ve noticed that a few Axton players, esp. when going through Digistruct Peak, tend to switch out their gear and COMs a bit throughout. Is there a build or COM I can try and stick with for its entirety?
Of course there are! One of the rules I play by (loosely) is that once I’ve rolled a map, I pick my loadout, and have to stick with it through the map. I say loosely, because if I get bored or bit off more than I can chew with a weak loadout, I have no problem rotating it to something more fun or easier.
What level of Digistruct Peak are you running? I play at OP3, so I can use my allegiance builds without too much issue, but at OP8, I’d just give them a set of the burliest things I could find. First - it’s hard to beat the Legendary Soldier COM for Axton… it’s inherent bonuses are nice, and most of Axton’s starter skills that this COM touches are great too. Then I’d borrow the following weapons from my other characters:
- Shock Pimpernel
- Florentine
- Corrosive Kitten
- Unkempt Harold
There are certainly other weapons you could use here, but that is pretty close to what I used to drag all my characters through OP8.

I’m one of the ones that will change gear frequently. The reason I do so is…because it’s fun! I have a backpack and bank slammed with great gear, and depending on the mood I’m in, I can just equip what I need and run with it.
I run a Guerrilla/Gunpowder style of build (29/29/9), but a lot of people seem to like the Guerrilla/Survival build (26/15/26). I don’t foresee many build changes with either unless you go raiding.

I’m too lazy to switch gear off.
It’s annoying to me.
Just go with a kitchen sink build, it doesnt require gear switching and works fairly well for solo and multi.
There is a video on YouTube of an op8 run using 26/15/26, Slagga and Bekah only.

- Quasar
- corrosive Bone of the Ancients
- Legendary Soldier
- Intense Unkempt Harold
- Slagga
- corrosive Pimpernel
