Hey guys! I’m new to the Gearbox forums but a longtime Borderlands fan. I started feeling a bit nostalgic recently so I started up a new Siren playthrough on Borderlands 1. I just got into New Haven and was about to do the claptrap rescue for the town. I started jumping rooftop to rooftop opening chests and making my way toward the toolbox. I looked at a random toolbox and it said “Press X to use” so I did and my character picked it up. I don’t know if it was just implemented into the game just to throw you off or if there’s some reason behind being able to pick up other toolboxes you aren’t normally allowed to unless you have a claptrap rescue quest active. I know the game has been out for a while so somebody has got to know if there’s a reason behind this or not. Thanks in advance!
Could you take a screenshot of the toolbox you picked up? I’ve never heard of anything like that happening before.
It’s possible that it was supposed to be the original location of a toolbox for the Claptrap Rescue mission, but the devs moved it or whatever reason and forgot to remove the first one.
That, or we just found what may turn out to be part of an extremely elaborate easter egg (alliteration!).
