So I’m a console peasant, and can only go up to level 61 in UVHM. I’ve been gathering some gear and putting together some builds I use that work best for me for level 61 play.

I use slag and shock kitties because farming them is a bitch on console and that way I don’t have to swap elements. A lucky hoarder because the legendary hoarder is unavailable. A roughrider for obvious reasons and an aggression relic for lack of a better option atm.

This is my best option for raiding and it kinda sucks, looking for a better option but it works.
Consists of dpuh (but tedior grip ) grog from mission, sherifs badge, decent adaptive shield, and the same auspicious raider com.
I’m looking for advice on what I should do, how I should do it, edits to the builds, gear to look out for/ farm for, and just some good advice that can make my play more enjoyable. Consider running your Hoarder build more like this.
Lay Waste is a massive boost and you will melt enemies whenever it’s active. Most fun I had with Sal was running Hoarder builds. I liked using the Slagga a lot too sometimes paired with Kitten or Heartbreaker in offhand. Omen, Butcher, Conference Call, Lady Fist, and a Grog or Rubi off-hand also pair well.

My 2 cents here, just slightly different from BookEmDano- I ran Sal with a Rubi/Heart Breaker when I first started playing him and it still holds up IMO. Definitely try him with a Grog/Lady Fist or dual Lady Fists (especially if one of them is slag). A Legendary Gunzerker com will shine with this as well, and if you can get it, one of the Tiny Tina coms, specifically the CE Monk. I don’t use RL or SR a lot on Sal but if push comes to shove the Pimp/Ahab/Creamer/RL of choice will still work. If you don’t mind my asking, why not get the level expansion to level 72 and Digistruct Peak? THC or the Borderlands Triple Pack for the 360 should contain all the dlc available for all games, which i take to mean the increased level caps as well- not sure what the season pass would cover in those instances…
I played around with similar styles for a bit but couldn’t get anywhere, without OP level scaling the kitten didn’t have enough healing to keep me up, so I went to brawn for a little bit of a boost which was enought to keep me up. I’ll give yours a shot but not sure how well it’ll work

I settled on this, i took a point out of auto loader, keep it piping hot and filled to the brim and put the into incite for movement speed and reload.
I did this because:
Keep it piping hot may be good but doesn’t help too much w/o grenade damage too
Autoloader because it will never get used
and filled to the brim because although it gets boosted I really dont need the bonuses with a hoarder build.
welp you were beyond ■■■■■■■ right that was amazing, I tried a little bit and kept going down but once i got rolling it SHREDDED. I swapped out for some tankier gear so I could get started easier and it worked like a charm. With the bonuses it could deal enough damage to keep me up and kill them much faster, it could keep my gunzerk up better by procing yippie ki yaya more, i cleared out petes bar in 3 gunzerks! That was great, thank you very much
I have the 4 main dlc’s, but i can’t get the legendary gunzerker because thats from digi peak I believe. I am aware of the pimp and RL glitch and tried that for a bit. I am unfamiliar with the tiny tina coms, could you explain to me what exactly they are and where i could get them?
The above link gives a breakdown of all coms for each character and what gets buffed by them. The Tiny Tina coms have a D&D theme for each character, with Monk being the label for any Sal com. They follow the alignments of traditional D&D with designations like True Neutral, Lawful Good, Chaotic Evil, etc. In the Tiny Tina dlc they have a chance to spawn from any chest that could become a mimic (and on one rare occasion a pic was posted in the Item Find of the Day thread of one being found in a small money chest). While any mimic chest can have them Dragon Tower has 5 mimic chests in total, making it the fastest place to farm for one. The ones for Sal boost Money Shot, Asbestos and Sexual T-Rex- the one I have is a CE Monk +6 Money Shot, +5 Asbestos…
I have an Auspicious Raider com with +6 moneyshot and +5 incite, why would I want aspestos over that? or is it based on the passive boosts from the com?
Yes, the monk’s passives are what makes it better.
Get an evil one preferably.
As for your Deputy build, I would move one point from incite to get SASG. Since you will be killing mostly with your second shot, an 80% recoil reduction is too good to pass up.
As for Hoarder builds, I have nothing specific to add: just listen to whatever advice @BookEmDano has to offer. The guy mastered the Hoarder playstyle a long time ago.
In the context of a Deputy build, the Evil prefix is the only one that really matters as it’s the only one that applies to the off-hand. the other 3 will only affect your grog. (So chaotic is probably the 2nd best I guess…)
…Still beats a shield penalty and an accuracy bonus to Assault rifles
I answered my own question by looking it up, and I like my aspicous raider com better because then I can use my fabled tortoise for speed and have incite for speed. I prefer that over a bit of crit so I think I should be fine with out a CE com
Yeah, if you’re using a tortoise, you need a Raider
If you go for raid bosses however, the extra crit and shield might come in handy, especially since there is not really a need for speed in a Raid arena, so keep that in mind too.
Remember that “a bit” in this case is something like 150% if you have a Grog nozzle in hand
Hey @Chuck80 is there a solid build to use for a assault rifle build for Sal, and if so could you show a link, I’m experimenting with just trying it out.
I’m gonna assume you’re using a slag Kitten (for the healing) in your off-hand and a Vladof, Dahl or Torgue AR in your main hand (as Bandit ARs are terrible and Jakobs ARs are used very differently) Spiniguns barrels are probably the best picks here.
If you want to get specific, Dual Kitten, the Ogre, the Shreddifier, dual Hail, Lead storm and Kerblaster are probably the best choices here.
I also assumed you will be using a Hoarder or a War Dog COM, if it’s not the case, you should move the points in 5so6 to all in the reflexes, and the points from Lay waste to Incite and/or Out of bubblegum (at least 1 point for the COM bonus if you have one)
Matching bone or a blood of the ancient, some kind of adaptive shield and whatever grenade you like
Yeah I’m going to need to get a kitten. And yeah I’ve gotten a hoarder com haven’t found a war dog class mod as of yet. Yeah I was looking into some weapons including E-tech rifles. Thanks Chuck I’ll try this out.
