I hope not. We’ve already lost one VH, we don’t need to be losing another, especially one as great as the meat man! As for his role, who knows? Maybe he’ll be a quest giver; maybe he’ll come back as a player character; maybe he’ll shack up with Maya and we’ll never see the two of them again. A whole lot of maybes.

It is entirely possible Krieg could be “killed” in a different sense. He could somehow get his sanity back in Borderlands 3. If that were to happen, he would no longer be Krieg. He would be the person he was before becoming Krieg. For all intents and purposes, “Krieg” would be dead. It would make sense that whoever Krieg was before his psychotic break would thank whoever “killed” Krieg (aka returned his sanity). Reminds me a bit of this Star Wars scene (not really a spoiler since it is missing the first part of the discussion, except maybe for the Obi-wan bit, but seriously that film is 30+ years old):

I kind of see Brick handling that job in the next one. Don’t ask me why, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.
We’re talking about Krieg, the only man who can talk about riding meat bicycles and make it sound cool, so I think he’s definitely coming back (still as Krieg). I proposed in other thread that they make the usual 4 new characters, but create a DLC or something where you can play as some of the old ones, and have missions especially made for them too. So maybe that’s gonna be the future of “the meat man”, Krieg.
