Is there such a thing as a bad glitch?

I’ve started using a couple glitch guns for my some of my characters. Tediore SMG for Claptrap and a Hyperion shotgun for Athena. And I’m still very new to using these things. And I really don’t understand how the glitch codes work yet, I have a feeling I’ll need to very closely read guides as I get more of them. But one thing I find myself wondering is, can glitches ever make a gun worse? Like is there something that would be great on a Sniper Rifle, but terrible on a pistol, or something like that?

IMO the A (blue) glitch is bad for high rate of fire guns because it will cause your shield to be depleted in no time.

Also the O (red) glitch is bad for high rate of fire weapons (excluding Dahl and Jacobs) since the damage increase isn’t worth the loss in fire rate.

But in the end just try out stuff first. There a always exceptions to the rules (I.E beam lasers get no loss of FR with the red glitch). And who knows, you might be the one to find the next cool glitch work around. I’m a big proponent of trying things yourself before asking for help.

It’s all dependent on the gun and your build.

For instance, I’d never want yellow glitch on my muckamuck when I’m sniping with Aurelia whereas I’d love to have yellow glitches on tediore splitter while I’m playing with Athena.

My personal favourites are red and green on shotguns or snipers, yellow on repeaters or SMGs. Not really gotten much benefit from blue on the glitch weapons I’ve had.

In my experience I really don’t like the green glitch on shotguns as it widens the spread and doesn’t boost total DMG as high as it would on non shotguns.

The green on SMGs is great. Pistols and ARs, too. but green on an SMG is kind of becoming my favorite.
