I’ve just come back to Borderlands from Borderlands 2, determined to take my Hunter to endgame. I resumed at the very beginning of Playthrough 2 and am now level 50 about to start Old Haven. I’ve come across a variety of Legendary weapons, but all from vendors and red chests, none from bosses. I’m aware that the loot system is different between the games, and that bosses don’t truly have “assigned drops”. Where would I find the best consistent chances of acquiring gear? There are some very nice weapons I would love to have and experiment with. Any advice is appreciated.
I thought the armory isn’t accessible more than a few times per playthrough? Essentially my best bets are red chest-heavy maps and Craw
I’ve gotten a few Legendaries from killing swarms of Zombies in the Dr. Ned DLC
Most of us that stick around to loot gear do so in the Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC. There’s a tough bonus boss that drops tons of quality loot, the DLC adds another rarity level of ultra-rare special weapons, and the Farmory.
As said before, the Farmory isn’t really legitimate, and hasn’t been patched on any version of the game. Lots of us here use it who don’t mind blackening our dirty, dirty, loot-filled souls with spoils from the farmory. If you were to look up “farmory glitch” you’d be able to find some guides on how to do it. Just DON’T GO IN THE ELEVATOR(if you want to do this, that is).
Apart from DLC3 you can use Mordecai’s Ransack skill in the Zombie DLC to farm pretty well, and vanilla’s Crimson Fastness has a good amount of chests.
