Returning after a year's hiatus, few questions

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, it’s been a while, let’s begin;

  1. I read that the level cap has been raised to 70, around the time the Claptastic Voyage DLC came out, I can’t say I remember it, but I do remember farming the boss at least a month after it came out, yet when I loaded up the game just now my highest level character was exactly lvl 60, the old level cap, would anyone be kind enough to shed light on this?

  2. Have Gearbox done anything in regards to the Smasher and Bullpup’s availability, as in can you legitimately farm them, do you still have to do that glitch, or have they patched that glitch completely?

  3. I’m aware that Gearbox has adjusted drop rates, is Vendorous still the only place worth farming, or is it now worth it to farm the bosses for their specific Legendaries?

  4. I read that Maya got buffed, and they finally put the Fastball in Boll’s loot pool in BL2, has TPS gotten any kind of long overdue TLC?

  5. Are there any changes, bugs or fixes since the Claptastic Voyage DLC came out that I should be aware of?

  6. Is the community still as vile as it was last year? is it safe to go online, or do I still have to watch out for the BL:TPS equivalent of “keep your insides, inside”, and other such game breakers?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and Merry Christmas.

  1. The cap is 70 now, yes.

  2. Nope. Removed completely in a patch.

  3. Bosses have a 10% chance, but items that don’t have a source are still vendor or grinder.

  4. Nope.

  5. You can’t “Moonshot” farm EOS anymore, but that’s all.

  6. I’m not aware of any fake hacked missions like Keep Your Insides Inside in TPS, so no.

  1. The base game has a maximum level of 50. The holodome DLC adds 10 levels. The claptastic Voyage DLC adds 10 levels. The DLC levels are exclusive to owning the DLC, so the breakdown is:

Base game only: 50 levels
Base+holodome: 60 levels
Base+ Claptastic: 60 levels
Base+holodome+Claptastic: 70 levels

  1. They patched that glitch completely

  2. It depends on what you mean by worth it. They made legendary droppers respawnable and tripled the drop rates. If you were vendor farming because you played before they patched in respawnability: then yes. If you’re looking for more consistent drop then no: RNG is still RNG and it may still take a while to get enemies to drop the leg loot.

  3. https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205280860-PC-Update-Hot-Fix-Information A few skills have been changed

  4. There’s been many different things in the patch notes about the claptastic DLC. Ego-tr4p works in UVHM was the one that I was waiting for and it happened, check out the link in #4 to see what’s been addressed.

  5. There’s still vile people in the community, but I’m sure we all have a different definition of what behavior is vile.

Thank you both for the quick replys, now the question remains, do I jump in at the deep end and go straight for UVHM, or do I take it easy and start a new character… have a good one :dukeaffirmative:

Both are good options. Maybe a mixture. Start the new guy and play him for a few hours. Then go back to your UVHM guy and continue him for a bit and see where you want to go from there.

I think these guys should have mentioned the boss respawning patch to you. That was HUGE for TPS. Most of the unique quest “bosses”/enemies now respawn even after the missions are complete (and in very few cases only respawn depending on which way you complete a mission) so that ends up meaning that their unique legendary drops are farmable. It’s great to not have to reset a playthrough in UVHM if you really wanted a certain legendary.

I think the players online are fine in TPS.

I think this guy did in point 2. :stuck_out_tongue:
